This has been a good work-horse light kit for video work. Color temperature is 3200K (more red than typical flash 5600K) so mixing this with flash units for still work produces unpredictable white balance results. Also, using these for still photography does not provide for sufficient shutter speed to hand hold moving subjects consistently. I've found the medium kit takes up a more manageable space with similar results, but I like having this in my kit. I also added a speedring for my alien bees light so I can use the soft box for my flash unit for still. The Starlites put out significant heat, but the design deals with this well. The bulb design is very good for tungsten with a surrounding bulb glass that lets you handle the bulb without gloves. Bottom line, this is rather good for video but only average for still photography.
