This thing is like a Swiss Army knife for your lighting system. It is a beauty dish, octabox and can be used with our without diffusion in both configurations. You also have the included grid to help control the light even more. All that plus it can easily be disassembled for storage and transport. The included carry bag keeps everything nice and neat.

While the beauty dish delivers as promised, you may be disappointed by the speedring--which is not included. The reflector mounts into two threaded holes which as specific to the Phottix speedring. While Glow and Interfit Bowens speedrings do fit, you cannot use the beauty dish without the Phottix reflector. Sure, every company promotes their own speedrings, but we know other brands sometimes fit. This is one time the speedring should have been included, or the requirement clearly stated. I can't recommend this beauty dish, which is otherwise excellent, because the Phottix brand speedrings are back ordered everywhere. Supply problems may frustrate you.

I really love this modifier. I was worried that it would be hard to assemble, but it takes me less than 1 minute to put the rods in. I looked for a modifier for a long time. While I love the Westcott Rapid box idea, I was really worried about the metal spokes breaking if the modifier fell. I feel that the Phottix modifier is more durable. It actually fell in a gust of wind and it was just fine. I really appreciate that it has a grid and double diffusion. I feel that the actual material (the black stuff) could be a little thicker, but it seems to be just fine. The modifier folds into a small package and I can take it anywhere. It is very versatile. I really love it. I highly recommend it. I just wish that it came in silver as well. I attached a picture that I got using this modifier on location. It was about 10 feet away from the subject.
