this is the way to go!

I'm a hobbyist but I take this stuff seriously and trying to develop some skill particularly in the area of off camera flash. I've spend a fortune on pocketwizard products and have never been satisfied. Here's what I can tell you: If you're using pocketwizards and find yourself being frustrated....PUT THEM ON CRAIGS LIST NOW AND BUY THIS INSTEAD! You won't regret it. It was a difficult decision to pony up another $ after the $ of dollars I have invested in Pocket wizards but I cannot stand having gear that is unreliable and the Odin system had great reviews so I decided to bite the bullet.....one of the best gear decisions I've made. These things worked right out of the box! No hassle! No special sequence of powering up the components. My Plus II were literally crashing my Nikon SB700s so I called them and said "yeah, we know there's a problem so we'll upgrade you to the Flex TT5". Okay, fine, I ponied up for the AC3 controller on top of what I had already spent. So here's the deal. The system worked great...when it worked...which wasn't all of the time. The TT5 prevented the crashing of the SB700 but the system was still unreliable. I prefer the creative side of photography to the techno/geek side but wouldn't call myself a tech dummy either and I often found myself confused as to what mode I was actually working in and of course those times when even though I had done everything as per many times before...the stuff just didn't work. As I said, I can't stand for this so I bought the Odin system. Holy Cow! This system is amazing and so simple and works every time. I just set my SB910 and SB700 to TTL mode and I'm done with the speedlights. I can use the controller to use TTL and dial in + or - compensation OR I can just use the contoller to go to manual mode and move up and down the power scale as needed. I'm telling you it couldn't be easier and as far as I can tell this system is totally reliable. The Odin system does't care which order I use to power up, etc. It just works. I am stoked to know that I can go out and focus my energy and attention on the image, the subject and the light I want instead of worrying about whether my gear is working or not. What a relief. My pocketwizards are going up on Craig's list. Trust me. If you're looking to invest in triggers and want TTL/Manual functionality this is the way to go!

My portable lighting problem solved.

I now use the Phottix Odin system with multiple small flashes whenever I need lighting for portraits. The TTL works great for balanced fill flash. No bulky strobes, no heavy batteries. Even on windy days I have had passers by hand hold and aim the flash for me. One more thing, although reasonably priced, it works great and is very reliable.

A Great Upgrade

I have debated expensive wireless triggers for a long time and finally picked these up. I've been very pleased so far with them. Shooting with Canon gear the TTL works really well. Non TTL has been solid as well, no misfires or misses. These are a huge step up from my cheap triggers. Pros: Built solid AA batteries TTL Decent range so far Hot shoe on Receiver Light grouping Update-able software Cheaper than PW for abilities Cons: Needs more channels Wish TTL worked with brands besides Canon/Nikon

EXCELLENT so Far

I have to admit that I was a little worried to begin with not having much knowledge on the Phottix Odin triggers, but after reading and reviewing from other users I decided to take a chance and they have worked out really well so far. Extremely easy to set up and change on the run. If the continue to perform like they have the first month that I've owned them I will be a wonderful thing.
