Same power as 430EXII not 580EXII

Excellent build quality; features are equivalent to or exceed those of a Canon 580EXII. Works fine with Canon 5DMKIII camera flash menus. Would be 5 stars except for the following: This flash is advertised by Phottix as having a guide number of 58 metric at full power, 105mm zoom. This is the same guide number as a Canon 580EXII (or 600EX-RT at 105mm). However, the actual power level I measured using a Sekonic L-358 flash meter under identical conditions was found to be the same as a Canon 430EXII at every zoom level. Compared to my Canon 580EXII, I measured the Phottix to be 2/3 stop lower in power at every zoom level. An additional problem for some photographers may be that the flash head does not lock at each tilt and rotational position. It has firm detents but a heavy modifier attached to the flash head may cause the head to tilt down from the desired position. In summary, if you want a flash with the features of a 580EXII but are happy with a true power level equivalent to a 430EXII, this is a great unit.
