See cons list. Literally the only pro is the size. The rest is a horror show.

I use this as a substitute to a daily-use television/movie screen in a small space. I use in combination with my apple TV and two paired Apple Home Pods. The overall combined experience is great! Important to note that the Apple mirroring does not work for television broadcast (I am informed this is an Apple issue and not a Phillips issue) though if this worked I would give 5 stars as I feel the mirroring is fairly wasted unless you want to mirror photos - as I connect directly to Apple TV (HDMI) I am able to access everything (TV, Netflix, photos etc) directly anyway though. I also really like the compact size, projection clarity (even in a fairly light room it is good, but GREAT in dim light). I'm honestly not sure why this product is not more covered in online reviews as the size and appearance is much better (in my opinion) than other products on the market if you want something that does not stick out too much.

I bought this through the IGG campaign. It was late but that doesn't matter too much, it's what the platform is for and you have to allow for those risks. When it first arrived turned it on, I thought it was fantastic. It's bright, portable, speakers are adequate and it's easy to set up/use. BUT it kept freezing. Completely freezing. I would restart, reconnect, get it all up and running again - and it would freeze. It does it on any source, and always and often. It's such a shame, it is so nearly a perfect product. I've tried everything. I WISH they would give me another one. I feel it's my version that is fauly rather than the overall product. No luck there I'm afraid. I would approach with caution here. Service seems to be the letdown.

The product suddenly stopped working. Philips offered a new replacement. But it took a month to receive return label and once Philip received my projector, they started saying they wanted to see if it can be repaired rather than sending a new replacement. The product had defects and very slow process and unkind process to fix. I am really regretting to purchase this product.

this projector suprising me when i turn on.. the image sharp, youtube and netflix working great on mine. so far no issue with the bluetooth and Wifi connection as well after upgrade to the latest firmware 1.2.1.. yes, just like others review.. the autofocus and correction keystone work not so well on mine as well.. hope developer can improve this issue with update. and hope can use both function when connect HDMI as well. just hope the developer never stop upgrade the firmware to improve PPM so far i really loved it.

Pros: small, quality made and creates a great, bright image for its size and purpose. The IO is well featured and has proved great for the kids film nights, camping and out in the hot tub (well away from the water of course!) The battery life is also surprising on the Eco settings along with the low noise made by the fans and immense LED bulb life. Cons: The UX is average at best, and not suited for non-techie/geeky people. I can see me requiring a Chromecast or similar to keep things like Netflix working in the not so distant future, but for now, it's adequate. Disappointments: during the IGG campaign there were a number of failed promises in hardware functionality and an over-reliance on the Philips brand name to generate interest, this over promising crept into the software road map, and currently (05/10/2020) the future firmware support doesn't look as bright as the PPM's light output.

For what I wanted, the projector is very good indeed. I wanted a unit I could take to presentations anywhere without being beholden to any IT issues in the organisation I was visiting. This works as hoped. I also wanted the ability to use it outdoors at night and it works there too (especially when connected to a power bank for mains free operation). It's so portable as well with a battery life between 1.5 and 2.5 hours (but more with a power bank) if you are not in energy saving mode. It would be excellent if it wasn't for the clunky software but even that is improving all the time. Really very pleased!

I backed this early on and have had mine since January. I project onto a 110 inch screen and use it to stream tv/movies. It has worked great. My daughter also played her Nintendo Switch on it.

even though the keystone only works vertically, the functionality of this as a portable projector is awesome. the lumens say it can project cleary in a semi-lit room but is still a little hard to see unless it is a dimly lit room.

When I backed this projector I was really excited about the "project from anywhere" infographic showing the projector off in a corner of the room and the image beautifully projected without distortion on the wall in front of the viewer. This is not anywhere near the case. The keystone correction is only vertical and it horizontal, and while correcting it distorts the image terribly. Furthermore they decided to not use a proper Android TV to save a tiny amount of money on this expensive projector. The result? An absolutely atrocious "Aptoide" store and weird side loaded apps for Netflix and YouTube that may or may not be supported into the future. When I play Netflix it also randomly freezes the video after maybe about 10 minutes prompting me to restart the projector. There are a ton of hardware and software issues with this thing. The shipping is ridiculous, the customer service is bad. The user interface is just about the worst I've ever seen. The projector is bright though. So... There's that.

I backed it on Indiegogo 8(!) months ago and got it delivered only two weeks ago. It had become a running joke with my girlfriend... but in the end the product is really good and fully met my expectations. Great image quality, extreme portability, decent battery life (2.5 / 3 hours) and good app selection. The new software update has improved a lot the user experience and fixed the few bugs and annoying features of the product I got from the box. For the price I paid on Indiegogo, it was a bargain.

They accepted more backers that they were able to handle on indiegogo and they continue advertising it even if they were already overwhelmed. The result is months of delay. When I received mine it only worked for a couple of months and then nothing, apparently faulty battery. The support team was supposed to send a new one. Still waiting for someone to get in touch after 2 months.

I gave 5 stars because of the good hardware spec. small size with 850 lumens , native 1080 fullhd, usb-c connection and wireless. I bought during the indiegogo pre-launch order. software part is not so great as its not Google certified android TV, its use aptoid instead of google play store. so I use my fire tv stick plug to the hdmi port.

Philips have made a great product in the PicoPix Max. This is my first projector, have always been a screen boy, but wanted to add something to the arsenal that was portable and high quality. It really doesn't feel like anything else in this price bracket can compete with this! Firmware updates are making the device even better, with the most recent reducing the fan noise substantially. Wish I'd bought two at the indiegogo price :')

I have had luck to get this one on December as one of the first backers. And I have to say for what I expected it delivered. Please do not expect to get a performance of a fixed dummy projector. If you wanted a projector for a fixed home cinema it is not for you, as for the same amount of money you can get a better product. What I needed is a mobile device, on batteries that I can move around that is light but powerfull so i.e. I can do a bbq night in the park. And this baby is more than enough to deliver. It has around 3hour of battery life and you can extend with additional battery (not sold by philips) and be sure you have enough juice. The screen is native FullHD, meaning you will see a separate dot for each pixel on your canvas/wall unlike the ones that only support native FullHD input (meaning they can have HDMI input in full hd but will downscale and number of dots will not be per FullHD specs. The included software needs a work, and main complains are about software in aptoide store not working. But philips got youtube, Netflix and Prime Video working in full hd modes from the onboard android. You can always plugin a chromecast device and use that. - i use it in all configuratios. You will need a Chromecast device to cast netflix/youtube/ or any other DRM content because projector is not certified by google/netflix/amazon to allow DRM content casting, which is not a big issue for me. Good for gaming too, very responsive on PS4 and XBOX connected via HDMI. Btw, bluetooth does not work if you are using HDMI as source, so audio out must be used to connect external speakers. bluetooth is working fine if you use built in apps. Can't wait for lockdown to end, because we cant wait to go out and have a try on the grass.

Always when i get in touch with any Philips product, software is the weak point. Using device for several months and im happy with it. The software bugs aren't critical - i can live with them until they are fixed - hopefully (but i don't believe it will be perfect). Biggest surprise was that such company like Philips can't get Google services support.

The machine is small, super quick to set up and it is great quality. We link to a blue tooth speaker for better audio, the speaker is suitable for a small unit but using and external may help.

I own this product since 6months now. the projector as objec it look very nice but software is a big mess, nothing work as should. after 6 months of beta testing still no possible to use any "normal" app, just one exemple: Youtube, if you want you see it you have to use unofficial app. I also had a lot of problems with netflix and amazon prime. cast doesn't work well and is a common issues with a lot of others owners image quality, dimension and general setup change drastically if you're using HDMI or internal OS Color ajustement is missing. Bluetooth sometimes doesn't work

After having backed it on Indiegogo and waited forever to get it, I was very happy when it turned up and I got it to work immediately - pointed it a white wall, plugged it in and it automatically set the focus to a sharp, crisp image. After setting up wifi and logging it in to Netflix, I put it to the test. The image is great, the sound is tinny, so I?ve connected it to a sound bar. It is super easy to use, and I would recommend others to get it. When using the remote, remember to point it at the back of the projector - I pointed it at the wall a couple of times and that didn?t work so well...

I have been waiting for this product since i ordered it almost a year ago, thank to covid19 the waiting time has been even longer. To the comments already online i don't know if i am too late to help or if they are just trolling ( because they scared me to death prior to finally get my unit !!! , it was working when i got it last week and still is) also... it's written right there on the preorder website that you can send it back or get your money back if there is any issues, if it is the case the law is on your/our side. For the bluetooth and hdmi i can't help because i only use netflix with the projector and haven't try hdmi yet. For the noise i haven't been able to put my hand on a decibel meter, but if your unit was damage during transport it may be also related to this issue. For comparison, my girlfriend has the pico micro, she got it around october and that's why i got the max, i wanted something with a bigger kicks (also thanks to preorder and 50% off) , the fan noise for such a small footprint is normal, i never expected a cinema experience with this product, i just wanted a portable projector that could connect to external speakers, and it is what i got, great image quality for its size and more than 800 lumens !!!! , it is an astounding number for something that size. I am hoping that peoples who have issues with their unit can get it fix because it's really worth it and now my girlfriend hate me because of this (jealous much) but again it's completely worth it.

Had it up and running within minutes and used most of the functions within an hour. You need to get the basics from the quick-start guide and navigate from there. Auto-focus worked well. Sound from the device is loud enough for me but I'll use Bluetooth speakers. wifi setup was standard. Need to use the USB-C on the end for charging / power, not the one next to it. If you do, it will think you are sending it a signal and you'll get "No Signal" until you remove it. Nice that it's an (Android) App device - a little like my Apple TV device - you get to browse and download apps. Came with NetFlix and Amazon Video pre-installed but there's plenty more in the app store. I tried the 'Air Play' from my Mac and it worked flawlessly straight away - that's better than my Apple device do with my Apple TV! Mine is a sincere 5 star rating - sorry to see these 1 star ratings here.

Dead on Arrival. known problem on the autofocus system. poor quality build means they have glued it pooorly and a central piece jumps off. still waiting for replacement. besides that several other issues, like the HDMI input doesn't allow to pass the audio via bluetooth. poor sw. poor choice. Get away!

I had one delivered six weeks ago, dead arrival. Since then Philips has refused to do anything to provide a replacement. Also worth noting that it did start up, just with no output, and it was VERY noisy. In short: poor build quality, dreadful support, and noisy. I?d recommend that you ignore
