Used for wedding reception and worked perfectly. Only had for about two weeks, so I don't know about the longevity of the product, but it did an excellent job! Long battery life, no misfires, beautiful images.

I am a wedding photographer and I use the transmitter and 2 receivers. Each receiver is mounted with a speedlite on a stand. The system as not let me down at all! Works from across the room, and from across the parking lot. Great device! The only downside i've experienced is that the shoe mount for the receivers is plastic. Someone tripped over my stand and the shoe mount on the receiver broke.... gotta buy a new one. Wish I could Phottix made it a metal mount like the transmitter.

Could never justify the cost of a wizard since I shoot in manual. As a result I've always have gotten by with cheap remotes until now. I decided to go a step up and my only regret is that i didn't buy these sooner. Works great with canon 7d. I was impressed with indepentant 4 light enabling wich is great for turning hair light on and off. My only complaint is that a second receiver is more than have The cost of a trans/rec set.

Pretty good price and it's easy to use, but it not durable. I accidentally drop the trigger on the wood floor in the studio. The piece of junk broke in the middle of the shoot. I have to run out and get another set. I am consider to get a pocket wizard.

I was able to use a spare Canon speedlight on the receiver. It works great as a background light and etc.. The one I bought is for Nikon but it triggers a canon light just fine..

These are excellent wireless flash transmitters! They are a significant step up from the inexpensive Yongnuo 602/603's and well worth the additional costs. The Phottix Strato II allows pass-thruogh ttl and can simultaneously fire off- camera flashes. It has many excellent features that pros and amateurs will find beneficial. BE AWARE THOUGH, YONGNUO FLASHES HAVE A "HOT-SHOE" COMPATABILITY ISSUE. A Yongnuo flash and Strato II transmitter cannot be used together in the hot shoe, to fire off-camera flashes. It causes the off-camera flashes to malfunction and fire rapidly. Their site only denotes the yn-465 as having an issue. It however wouldn't work with my yn-468 and upon inquiry, they confirmed it was all Yongnuo flashes. You could elect to attach the Strato II via the PC terminal and then use the Yongnuo flash in the hotshoe by itself. In that case everything functions perfectly. You just cannot use them together in the hot shoe. Other flashes, including Metz, apparently do not have this compatability issue but I'd confirm beforehand.

These things are awesome. They're about the equivalent of the PocketWizard Plus II's. They don't do TTL, but they do have excellent range, they are very reliable, nice appearance and use standard AAA batteries. A huge bonus is that you can just put the transmitter between your flash and camera, and your flash works normally yet triggers remote flashes. You can mix and match brands of flashes and cameras. In my case I use a Canon camera but Nikon SB-28 flashes. The Nikon flashes will work with the Canon receivers except that the flash will not wake up if it goes to sleep. The Nikon receivers do wake them up and work great with the Canon transmitter. If you like the sleep function on your flashes, just make sure your flash is supported by these. The receivers also fire flashes typically used as slave flashes, such as the Vivitar 285 and some others. I've shot a number of on-location assignments since replacing my older wireless triggers with these. So far, everything is working great. Haven't had a chance to see just how far away these reach, but if they cover a room where the flash is up to 100' from the camera, I'm good to go (and these will, easily.) There are some cheaper versions of these by Yongnuo, but I chose these because they just look better and other reviews said how reliable they were. Reliability is critical to me and I'll gladly pay a bit more and skip all the frustration later. The packaging comes with every cable you could possibly need to use these. It was even neat to be able to put the receiver on my camera and trigger the camera to take a picture from several feet away using the transmitter's test button held in my hand. Some drawbacks aren't with the product but with the way the items are sold. You cannot buy a transmitter separately, and you can't get a Nikon receiver with a Canon transmitter. I've asked the company a couple of times to purchase the transmitter separately, and they basically just stop responding when I ask. They were very polite and informative with other requests, though.
