This product is great for home studios. I use them to trigger strobes and speed lights. I haven't found anything to complain about.

This set is compact, reliable, well designed and comes with every cord you can ever need, including for shutter release on various Nikon bodies. The reciever is easy to hook up by mounting the flash on the shoe or using a sync cable. The transmiter as a pass-through TTL shoe that allows all TTL functions to work and this has turned out to be the most useful feature. I used to have a complicated set up to trigger an on camera flash with TTL and a remote manual flash. Now it is very stream-line and quick to set up. The ability to work with up to 4 groups with the remote flashes has also turned out to be useful. The strap loop that you can attach to each unit is also great for making it easy to hang on a stand, although it would have been bette rif it attached on the back side of the unit. The light that tells you which group is selected is kind of subtle and impossible to see in daylight. I like the idea that this unit is compatible with the Phottix Odin system which I might consider buying one day.

I am glad to see that Adorama is now selling this item. I had to buy mine at another vendor. I own 2 sets of these and also own the previous version of this product which was the strato 1. First off if you need to have remote units operate on TTL this is not the item for you. This item will allow you to place a trigger in the built in camera shoe, use it on TTL and fire remote units like monolights and shoe flashes on manual. I have yet to find a situation in which I could not fire these units. They just work great. If you do not need to hyper sync or use wireless TTL this is a great unit to purchase. You could invest in a more expensive product but you will read a lot of reviews on how sometimes they do not fire and issues with ttl. I am in the wedding business and I need the most consistent results so I shoot manual remote combined with on shoe ttl and these work great for me. They also come with all the connections you need and as an added bonus you can fire your camera itself with this unit and included cable. I would also suggest buying some rechargeable AAA's and a charger. This will save you a lot of money. I buy the powerex brand and never had an issue. ******Also if you own the strato original here is some important information you need to know. You can use the strato II triggers to fire the strato receivers but can not use the old starto triggers to fire the new strato II receivers. I hope that made sense. I did not mind this because I bought two sets of these and still use my old receivers with them.
