Two-Way Switchable Bipole/Dipole Surround Speaker. Only 9 inches tall and 5 inches deep, The V-Surround-II completes the Phase Velocity Series. With a 5.25-Inch VDT Woofer and Dual 1-Inch Soft-Dome Tweeters, The V-Surround-II can operate as either a Bipole Or Dipole Speaker. It also comes with a Keyhole Mounting System, allowing it to be placed on walls and freeing up floor and shelf space.
Phase Velocity
The Phase Velocity series delivers incredibly accurate audio reproduction at entry-level prices. The series includes bookshelf, tower, and surround models.
Resonance Control
Curved fiberboard enclosures minimize the bassmuddying coloration that occurs when standing waves bounce between parallel cabinet walls.
Soft Dome Tweeter Design
Phase Technology's patented soft dome tweeter reproduces silky smooth and defined high frequencies, making it the perfect complement to the VDT (Vapor Deposited Titanium) woofer that produces extraordinary bass and mid range frequencies.
Absolute Phase Crossover Networks
The proprietary crossover network design ensures that the speaker drivers are both acoustically and electronically in phase. This is especially important when a sound moves from left-to-center-to-right and vice versa. The transition is heard as a smooth flow from one speaker to the next, creating a large, well-defined soundstage with precise imaging and increased depth of field.
VDT Woofers
VDT drivers are injection molded polypropylene cones, augmented with a vapor deposited titanium. They are extremely light, resulting in quick movement and excursion, while also being incredibly dense. This eliminates diffraction in and out of the speaker cabinet that would otherwise make a muddy audible signal.
