The Pioneer VSX-823-K 5.1-Channel Network Ready AV Receiver features Direct Energy amplification with up to 140W per channel. It's equipped with Dolby and DTS high-definition surround sound decoding, Ethernet connectivity and a GUI that supports album artwork. The receiver features six HDMI inputs that support 4K and 3D pass-through, Audio Return Channel (ARC), Deep Color (36-bit) and x.v. Color. The front panel HDMI input also supports MHL 2.0 for Android audio/video playback. Plus, there are multiple advanced surround modes and an AM/FM tuner with 30 station presets.

The VSX-823-K is DLNA 1.5 Certified for network streaming. It is HTC Certified as well. It supports AirPlay for wireless audio streaming from compatible Apple devices. Plus, the receiver can also stream audio via Bluetooth, but an optional AS-BT200 adapter is required. You can use your iOS or Android mobile device as remote using the ControlApp. And, if you have the optional Bluetooth adapter, you can use the Air Jam App with your iOS or Android mobile device to share music and create playlists via Bluetooth.

The receiver also features multiple analog audio and video inputs, a coaxial audio input and an optical audio input. There is a front panel USB port as well, which you can use to connect your iPod, iPhone, iPad or USB drive. The USB port supports direct digital connection and it will even charge your device. Other features include multiple Pioneer sound enhancements and Pioneer Auto MCACC Room Calibration, which includes a setup mic so you can perfectly calibrate your system to your specific room dimensions.
