When it comes to compact yet powerful bass amplifiers, the Phil Jones Bass BG-110 Bass Cub II stands out with its impressive 110 watts of pure tone packed into a lightweight, portable package. This red-colored, solid-state amplifier is so light that it can be effortlessly lifted with just one finger, making it an ideal choice for bass players on the move.
Over the past two years, Phil Jones Bass has dedicated extensive research into enhancing the original Bass Cub. The result is the Bass Cub II, boasting improved loudspeaker cone acceleration for a greater transient attack, a wider dynamic range, and significantly lower harmonic distortion. The upgraded amplifier design features an enhanced power supply, ensuring a rock-solid, stable voltage and current to optimally feed the amplifier.
The Bass Cub II also introduces a specially engineered loudspeaker, designed to deliver a wider and smoother frequency response using the unique "Chrome-Dome" technology. This feature ensures increased headroom and speed, capturing every nuance of bass playing, from the subtlest fingerstyle techniques to the most aggressive slapping.
The amplifier comes with two independent channels, capable of accepting two instruments or one microphone. It also includes a stereo input for a drum machine or iPod/MP3 player, making it a versatile tool for practice sessions. You can practice through the two internal 5-inch speakers or via the headphone jack for a more personal experience.
The Bass Cub II measures 12"W x 11"D x 7.8"H and weighs a mere 15.5 lbs. It delivers 110 Watts Class D amplification with a digital switch-mode power supply. A soft cover is included for added protection. With its compact design, the Bass Cub II can comfortably sit on the floor or on top of a desk. It can also be connected to a PB-300 250W active cabinet, transforming it into a powerful 350W stack. With the Phil Jones Bass BG-110 Bass Cub II, practicing your bass guitar has never been more convenient or sounded better.
