At this price, Dont say no!

I think at the price point you can't go wrong. They're certainly not audiophile speakers that will define and support the nuanced and honed listening ear. Not at all. That said, they've far surpassed my expectations, and have found a permanent home at screen right and left for my home theater (120" projection theater). They're not the greatest for non-compresed dynamic music, but for cinema they're far more than adequate. They should be combined with a moderate sub woofer (adequately placed), in addition to well-placed surrounds. I'm the movie setup, they're extremely transparent and lively. The mids are supported, highs are strong (though with lots going on can sound thin), and the low end is strong but subtle. Again, you have to think about price point. At this price you can't say no. Well done, Polk.

Great enterance speakers into the world of audiophiles

I am not an audiophile, but rather a sound enthusiast. I bought these speakers for our home-surround-sound system, and they really do sound great. We have a non-regular shaped mid-sized room and these as two Fronts get the job done. I love watching blu-ray action movies on our system. By the way, I also got the Polk 250c center channel, which is on sale right now on Adorama for $ - an unbelievable deal. This set of floor-standing speakers with that center channel are a real good set in my opinion. I also just did the bi-amping on these speakers, since my receiver (SAMSUNG HW-C900) has that option, and I can tell that the sound is better and fuller.
