After comparing my custom one-off 3-way center channel speaker to the 706c center speaker the one-off 3-way custom speaker is up for sale. I have the LSiM705 mains that match up with this center speaker and the sound quality is excellent. Having heard some of the cheaper Polk Audio offerings I didn't quite know what to expect from the LSiM line. I'm happy to say they replaced some very well regarded Salk speakers. Dialog is very clear, no need to rewind just to hear what was said, nothing is garbled. And the cherry veneer finish is world class, not a seam or mar on any of the three speakers. I love them!

Best value for center speaker. I had tested numerous center speakers from Canton, KEF, and my original set of the Cinema from Martin Logan. This Polk is the beast. You can crank it up and it still produces clear sound and blend well to both side speakers (LSIM707). The only negative feedback is the design. It looks bulky, boxy and with the cover, it becomes generic.

I've had my LSiM speakers for a little over 3 weeks now and I continue to be impressed. I previously owned the Polk RTiA line including the CSiA6 and that is a solid center channel speaker in its own right. So, I was hesitant to upgrade because I wasn't sure if it would be worth it. But, Adorama's fantastic price helped make the decision easier so I purchased a full 7.0 set. The 706c is a fantastic center channel speaker. And yes, it is a worthwhile upgrade.

I love this speaker. I am definitely no audiophile and so I am sure there are better speakers out there (maybe priced lower than this). But it has worked for me perfectly; this I bought in combo with 2 LSiM 707 speakers and the entire package is staggering...especially at the price that I got it for from Adorama. I like the styling; it is relatively heavy and big (compared to an old Onkyo one that I had bought a long time back). Overall, I am very happy.

I cannot recommend the Polk LSiM series enough. You will have to spend very serious money (think at least double the price) to even get a minor step up in performance. The Polk LSiM series to me represents the ultimate cost/performance ratio.

The sound is really great. I had an older Polk audio center channel speaker. The new LSiM706 Mt. Vernon cherry looks really great. It really balances with my two LSiM 705 Polk tower speakers.

Purchased the LSiM 706c while on sale at Adorama and got a good price. They match my Polk LSiM 707 towers which I purchased at the same time, and together they produce great sound. They are heavy though, so be careful moving them around. Ordered on Wednesday, received them all by Friday. Good customer service, no complaints.

This speaker does a great job with all kinds of sound. provides very clear voices in a movie or just watching the news. It is rather large which I knew going in so make sure you read the dimensions. I have this as part of the complete package that I ordered from Adorama and I am super pleased with these speakers. They do need to break in for best sound and if you put in flac or other non compressed music -WOW!!

I use the new 707's and this center speaker in my "TV" room. The timbre of this center speaker matches the 707's, and together they sound great! I do not do "serious" music listening in this room, but on movies and TV shows sound excellent. I gave it 4 stars because I really cannot evaluate it by itself.

I was somewhat skeptic on investing on an expensive center speaker, but after installing it for a week now, I am hooked! The music and dialog is unbelievable. Much better than I expected, So good, that I ordered matching LsiM703's to compliment it. By far the best looking cabinet, I have seen in a very long time. Not a boxy bland speaker, so even with the system not on, one can really appreciate how well it looks. They are still being broken in so, I can only imagine them to sound even fuller in time. Very happy I could get them through Adorama, Thanks!

I just upgraded from the lsic and without exception, this is the very best center speaker I have heard, such depth and clarity with amazing mid's. Voices, music and mids are lifelike, just be forewarned, this speaker is large...check specs to determine if she will fit in your entertainment cabinet. Mine is a beautiful addition, sitting on top of my entertainment center. A stunning masterpiece "Thank You Polk Audio" I am completely satisfied and then some....can't wait to get home to grab the remote and soak in luxury with my entire collection of LSIM speakers, 705's fronts,706 center, 703 rears! Those who may be concerned what is needed to run these as far as an amplifier or AVR, check specs, unlike my previous lsi15's which were 4 ohm rating these are an easy 8 ohm to run. For the price I could not be more satisfied. The only other speaker I believe would be a step up from this line from Polk in my opinion, would of course be a major increase in cost such as the B&W Nautilus. I suggest you don't waste your time or money...these speakers are the real deal and will simply amaze you. Please also know, there is a break in time of at least 25 hours to enable the speakers to truly shine. I run mine off a Denon 985S AVR which I use only as a pre/pro, my Emotiva XPA5 pulls all the muscle and I could not be happier with their amazing company and products. I would highly recommend those who run Denon to set your EQ on the surround parameter to LARGE. Many new AVR's require much tinkering and can seem obnoxiously annoying, I recommend spending time and enjoy all the features and settings your equipment offers. I've been using the LSIM 707's without a center in home theater given size constraints of 706 center speaker placement, and in my situation, the 707's sound a bit better vs using the 706 center and a central channel speaker (understanding all rooms / equipment are different). I've removed the center channel in another LSIM system, and ended up with two 706's not needed. I then switched the 703's I was using as part of a living room bookshelf stereo system with the 706's -- and there was a nice improvement in the sound using the 706's (which were positioned in a large built in bookshelf -- and no need to address stand issues). Thank you for an earlier reviewer's comment for the idea to use the 706's as bookshelf speakers.

Then I decided to commit the audiophile heresy of buying two of these 706's, stand them on their side and try them in a typical two channel set up. Oh. My. God. This could be the best speaker set up I've ever owned. The bottom end that's the weakness of bookshelves is GONE. Full, rich bass like I have never heard in bookshelves. You won't need a subwoofer at all. Highs and mids are just as lovely and imaged nicely as with the 703's. Obviously, the characteristics are a little novel for nearfield listening, but they didn't detract at all from my critical listening. Also, you don't get the quality drop off when you wander off into other areas of the room like you can get with bookshelves. Finally, you get all the power and majesty you get from tower speakers at half the size! I will add a qualifier; I've never had a multi-speaker home theater set up, so I don't know how the 706 would perform in that environment. However, based on my 2 channel set up, you better have a really good theater system to match with the 706, or your going to have to upgrade. (photo info: yes, I'm getting stands for them)
