I purchased this set of 7 speakers on a discount deal and was always interested in getting this set. Finally the chance came to own a set of these and I took the plunge. I chose the cherry color over black finish as I am always partial to a lighter color of speakers. The build quality is great out of the box, and the speakers have some heft to them. The finish is smooth, and there is no perceptible grain to them, unlike the RTi speakers that I have owned. The packaging was very good, and taking them out requires several re-orientation of the box, but was a snap to set up. The LSIM 707's did impress me greatly after connecting to a Crown XLS 1502 amplifier coming out from an Onkyo TX RZ-800 receiver. I used 12 gauge wiring. The speakers are in a 7.1 setup in a large living room space. The bass from the 707's is very accurate and ample, and was even more perceptible than the Polk PSW10 subwoofers that I had. I had the RTi 10 speakers previously and in comparison, the LSIM 707's have a more full range and highs are cleaner and voices and instruments are clearer and more life-like. Renditions of classic rock, orchestral music, and dance music had great sound staging, with high tones reproduced without any tin-niness. Bass was low and accurate without any muddiness. I found that the 707's were easier to listen to and mcuh more comfortable for longer periods of enjoyment than my previous setup. The bookshelf LSIM 703's are also excellent, and are better for a enclosed room. I have these in my study, and many times, I have thought the sounds were so realistic that it was head turning. The 703's are like the 707's just without as much bass. I connected these to a 15 year old 55 watt/channel Panasonic receiver that I dusted off. I was a little concerned that the speakers would be underpowered, but was excited that the music came out loud enough and crisp. I have a 160 watt subwoofer to supplement, which seems to work nicely. For home theater, I found that Dolby Atmos provided the most compelling experience. THX was good as well. The center channel is larger than most center channels that I have owned in the past. Speech come out well, and movie experiences are completely immersive. My usage is 80% listening to music of all varieties (pop, rock, dance, classical) and 20% home theater, and am very happy with the purchase!

Very good home theater speaker system, needs power though to get the most out of these speakers. I have Vandersteen's in my listening system, and the 707's come close to the sound quality I enjoy. The Polks appear laid back with decent clean power, and have a good sound, but really come alive with a stronger amp. This was my first purchase through Adorama, and I must say, it was as good or better than Amazon. So good in fact, that I have ordered another Polk package from Adorama. Also, for larger purchases, I would recommend getting the VIP Adorama service (fast shipping, returns...) for peace of mind.
