Can't adjust the sound to ever sound very good. Speakers crackle all the time. Adjusting the voice up to hear talking over the music causes echoes in speakers. Can't get it added to Google home so can never get software updates. Calling the 800 number is a joke. Just ordered a Bose system to replace this piece of junk. Would not recommend any type of Polk system.

Subwoofer ticks when there isn?t a lot of bass in what you?re watching or on a streaming service menu. It sounds almost like a power discharge. I followed the online troubleshooting which said to connect to Ethernet so system could do a software update, but that hasn?t made a difference. Polk had always been a great name in sound which is why I chose this system so this is a bit of a disappointment.

I always can count on the Polk name for quality sound. These days its at a more affordable price. The sound quality and left/right transition is smooth and balanced. I am only giving 3-Stars as this unit has the very annoying popping coming out of the speakers when not playing. Firmware, settings, etc, all no help. It's something I guess we have to live with. I would expect the folks at Polk would have engineered a fix for this annoying issue by now.

Sounds good on 1st week after hooking it but after a while there is a popping sound on the sub.not sure what is that irritating noise is.it comes & go all the time????????????i am a little disappointed??

I have a major surround sound/theater setup in the basement, so I wanted something small, easy to set up and have high quality surround sound in the living room upstairs instead of just the TV speakers. This fits perfectly. No wires to run, excellent surround sound. Very happy! Up and running in 10 minutes. Perfect! High quality, good looks, good value.

I love this system watching a new 4k movie the sound is incredible. Alit of surround sound systems out there does not true surround sound. This magnifi max Sr is a true surround sound system it sound like your in the movie and the sounds are all around you the way a Tru surround sound should be doing the voice adjust is great alot of movies these days u can't hear rhe voices very good over the background noise with this voice control you can set it to hear every word and adjust the bass amd the rear speakers to be as loud or as quiet amd u perfer them to be. All amd all this is a 5 star system. 5he best I've ever had

I liked the look of the system, It was easy to install and easy to operate. The sound is amazing especially when streaming music on Bluetooth. The night feature is a real bonus when my wife goes to bed early and I still want to watch TV in the family room. I only have one negative but it?s a big one. The sound goes away while watching Directv or streaming on Roku. It happens at different times so you never know when you will loose sound. When it happens you loose about 10 seconds of sound before it comes back on itself. Sometimes you have to tap the volume button on the remote to have the sound come back. Then Rewind the program your watching to hear what you just missed. Customer service helped me with resetting the system, but didn?t fix the problem. Polk is sending me a replacement as of today. Again I love the system and the sound is awesome, but the one problem I?m experiencing is a deal breaker. I hope the replacement doesn?t have any issues.

Doesn?t work if modem/router is less than 25 feet according to support- got all types of digital noises and cracklings. Had to return it.

This is the 5th sound system I?ve bought in a three week period. Finally found the right one. The Magnifi Max SR has a great sound for music and TV. One issue is the sound varies when it goes from a program to a commercial. After doing a reset it helped but did not completely fix the problem.

7 months in, and it's going in the trash. Freezes every day and has to be unplugged. Subwoofer pops. Chromecast would not connect. Tried HDMI arc, optical, and aux without any change. Piece of junk, might as well have thrown $600 in the garbage and saved the hassle.

I?ve had this for a few years at this point, and one of the updates completely screwed up my system. The worst part is that it?s now apparently impossible to hard reset. In short, it appears to be a waste of $500. I also have a Magnifi Mini. No issues with it. Wish I would?ve bought a second mini instead.

I bought this system a few days ago and couldn?t be any happier. I?m not sure why some people are experiencing the pop and crackle noises from the satellites and sub, but I haven?t heard anything other than great sound! The ease of using makes life so much easier.Set up in under 5 minutes, using all optical for audio and have zero issues. Great product Polk. Awesome sounds from front and satellite speakers. Bass is amazing. I feel the soundbar voice can get a little buried among the other speakers at times but not too bad.

Being an "old" audiophile from the early 1980's, I was always impressed with Polk Audio products from the big box speaker Hi-Fi era. When I finally decided to upgrade to a modern sound bar system, I gravitated to Polk's products. The MagniFi MAX SR is a breeze to set-up. The HDMI ARC connection instantly integrated with my nearly 10 year-old Sharp Aquos HDTV. Bluetooth immediately synched the sound bar to the bass and surrounds. No issues with surround speaker cracking or rebooting! I really appreciate the voice sound level adjustment feature. My TV viewing elevated to a new level, and music sounds awesome as well. Highly recommended.

I bought the display model from a furniture store. All this stuff about popping sounds is malarky. I've had this display model for a year and I couldn't be more pleased with it. I figured that since mine was on display it would probably start giving me problems. I figured wrong. All I have is the MagniFI MAX soundbar and subwoofer. The furniture store didn't have the surrounds for some reason, I wanted it ANYWAY. I've had just the soundbar and sub for a year and I couldn't be more pleased. In the distant past, I had big rack component systems that DIDN'T sound half as good as this. Not to mention I paid an incredible amount of money for them. The sound quality of this system is next to none and for those folks who complain about wanting more power, I say if you're not satisfied, go buy a Bose or Denon or something. You'll pay A LOT MORE and the sound won't be as good as Polk, but you'll have the power you want to complain about. I think this is more than adequate for most people. I'm not necessarily looking to buy hearing aids in the near future. This is a most excellent piece of audio equipment and others need to quit their complaining. For $600.00, this CANNOT BE BEAT. Thank you Polk for such a fine piece of audio excellence????????.

This is the most stressful system that we have ever had it was the worst purchase ever!! When your TV is paused a little too long the system shuts down and you have to return it back on go through all the options to get it backup and going!!! Then it takes a few seconds for the system to turn on And then when it is on you have to wait a few seconds for the sound to come on.. We have never had an issue with surround sound and I wished we never purchased this deal

The sound bar is awesome, the only thing i would suggest is amplifying the sound controls. You have too kept pushing the volume up and down for at least 3-6 seconds before the volume raises or lowers. As for the quality of the sound system. I had a Bose sound bar that was 10 years old and stopped working. This system put's the Bose sound bar to shame. The surround sound is awesome. Glad I made the purchase
