Not worth the money

Remote is junk, first one didn't work at all, second one works when it feels like it. Speakers have an annoying, awful, popping sound pretty regularly. System is garbage. My last sound bar with 80 bucks at Walmart and was WAY better. Seriously, I'm not exaggerating. It's awful.

Problems

I have a SB1 and Suddenly after a power outage it will not stay on. I can turn it on and get sound for approximately for around 10 seconds then shuts itself off.

Love it!

I have my SB1+ in my living room- sounds WAYYYYY better than my TV speakers. I don't have the wireless rear speakers yet but I'm going to upgrade to them at some point, cool feature. The bar was a breeze to set up and I love being able to turn up the center channel with voice adjust. I wish the remote lit up, kind of hard to see in the dark.

Sounds great but won't learn Sony Remote codes

I bought this sound bar after fighting with a Sony sound bar for several months trying to get it working with a Sony TV. I have an old model Polk Audio sound bar that works great with an older Sony TV. The sound is great. The only thing is that the SB1 + will not learn the Sony TV remoter codes. I've tried everything. The older sound bar didn't need any learning.

Disappointed

My wife and I had a best buy "designer" stop by and offer some suggestions on replacing our tv and sound system. My old sound system ran off an Onkyo receiver and we had 9 speakers wired to this device for our surround sound, never a problem. this included two infinity outdoor speakers for our patio. when we wanted to listen outside we simple hit an A-B button. Anyway, our expert suggested the Polk SB1 sound bar and an Omni A1 amplifier to power the back speakers for our surround sound. we also needed an additional A1 amplifier to power the outside speakers. Initially the sound bar sounded great with the surround sound. however, once I configured the Play-Fi devices (back speaker & outside speakers) I lose the surround sound, it will only play through the sound bar and will not connect to the back speakers. I had to delete everything and start over, at the moment the sound bar is playing in conjunction with the back speakers. but I am unable to listen to music through the rear speakers or outside speakers. Music will only play through the sound bar. the Geek Squad stopped by for a second time and was unable to resolve it. In the process of having the "designer" come back. When I called Polk support on Friday I had a very unpleasant rep and was no help at all. should have gone with the Sonos system.

Full of defects!

Speaker is constantly making popping noises. This shows the low quality of the components inside this speaker. A lot of us are reporting this problem and Polk isn't responding to our emails. Unreliable wireless surround. This product is being advertised as wireless surround with the addition of 2 S2 speakers. This never works, software is almost always unable to find the rear speakers and if they ever connect to the bar (rarely), there is a significant delay between the front and rear speakers. The Omni idea sounded great, being able to connect all your speakers in the house as one system, but this was poorly executed and software is full of bugs, not entirely their fault since they are using DTS's software, but at the high price these speakers are being offered, they should stand behind their products a little better. This was my first time trying out Polk products and most likely will be the last one, very disappointed.

Awesome Soundbar!

This thing sounds great! I bought the 2 Omni S2 speakers to make it true 5.1 surround and the sound is really good. With the Polk app on my smartphone it can be configured to true surround sound. The best part about it is there are no wires from the soundbar to the speakers. It's all done with wifi. Just plug in each speaker to an electrical outlet and with the help of the app you have surround sound. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

Overall, the speakers sound great and work well. The only issues I had were with the surround sound set up.

Audio sounds very good. Set up for the surround sound, on the other hand, was unnecessarily long.

Good for the price

Great for the price added S2 as wireless rear surrounds. Setup was simple but the interface could use a lot of work. Also why not make it so that you can make the adjustments and setup from a laptop? Bass is a little heavy even when turned down in my opinoin

sounds good when it works

bought whole house worth - had them hooked up and rockin' - sounds good when they work but unfortunately intermittent drops make them worse than no sound - very frustrating and irritating, especially for the $$ and time spent troubleshooting. Customer service tried to help connection issues but refuses to refund. Disappointed to say the least

I wish I would have listened to it in a store

Bought this for christmas as an upgrade to a Polk st5600 that we loved, thought going with this unit would increase the movie experience. Also purchased the smaller wireless speakers for surround sound. Polk technical support was great on setting up the wireless speakers, but we would not have been able to set them up on our own. The sound from the SB1 plus is clear but has very little volume, it has less volume and sound dimension than the st5600 in my opinion. If I had to do it over again I wouldn't.

Great option when space is limited

Setting g up the soundbar itself was pretty straightforward once I downloaded the product manual online. Adding the wireless speakers was a little more challenging but all works great now.

Great sound bar!

Sound bar works great by itself. I also have two other speakers paired to it for music in multiple rooms.

Outstanding

Way way way better than my Bose and Samsung soundbar. Affordable and easy to set up. No issues with wireless soundbar syncing. I LOVE the voice volume control.

Sounds great, excited to get rear channels going

Great addition to my Polk Omni setup. The surround in 3.1 sounds great, excellent dialogue tuning, bass sounds fantastic even at low levels. Awesome to be able to place the sub pretty much anywhere for optimal bass response. I love being able to "restream" from inputs on the SB1 Plus. I haven't tried it via the bluetooth adapter or analog input yet, but I am currently playing music from an Amazon Fire TV Box connected to the SB1 optical and restreaming to a S2R in another room; sounds great, sync is perfect. In fact, I'm using airplay from an iphone to the Airplay/DLNA Receiver Pro app on the Fire TV, which makes music and volume control super simple on the iphone and Apple Watch no matter what you are playing: Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, etc. It would be nice to be able to save a restreaming setup as a group in the Play-Fi app; otherwise you have to build it from scratch every time you change to another source. The pdf manual online is way better than the setup guide in the box. Overall I am very pleased with the quality and sound of the SB1 Plus. I am looking forward to getting the rear channels on surround going as well--I hear we are waiting for a firmware update. Polk has excellent tech support and customer service. I have had several Omni series devices for a year and have given several as gifts; needed support a couple times and they were quick to make it right. *Polk* please consider integrated airplay down the line! Remote control learning instructions need fine tuning.

Close to being great but a few kinks

I purchased the Omni Sb1 Plus several months ago for our home. I was excited about Hi Fi streaming from different devices. The Hi Fi works great with just the soundbar but when pairing with the S2R wireless speaker it is tough to get them on the same page sometimes. My biggest complaint is the subwoofer makes a "thud" sound at random times that does not correspond with the music or TV Bass at all. It makes random thud noises and people that come over notice it and ask what it is. It makes the noise no matter how much the bass is turned down. I'm thinking about returning it if possible. Maybe I just got a band one?
