We needed a place for an HMI lamphead and ballast/head cable. This case is MASSIVE but really does the trick. Like all Pelican products it's made well and is really sturdy. The pick and pull foam is great to customize. We've noticed it sheds cubes here and there from the resistance of sliding the gear in and out. I could see after a year or so of use the foam would maybe break down significantly. On the very bottom there is an extra layer of solid foam after the 3 pick and pull layers so even if you go all the way down there is still cushioning on the bottom. In the top lid there is a layer of solid foam followed by a layer of egg crate foam. Those layers are loose, so we just hot glued them into place. With the case fully loaded it is definitely a 2 man job to lift it mostly because it is so large and not necessarily just the weight factor. We also purchased the optional mobility kit which makes it nice to shift it around set.
