This pelican case perfectly secured our iPads. Width the tough shell we felt confident our iPads would no suffer in-flight damage with the shuffling of luggage in and around the overhead binds. Easy to open and the iPad is easy to remove from the case. This reduce the fatigue often experienced with heavy protective cases.

I use this case to carry my iPad for use when I am shooting formals with the CamRanger wireless tethered option for my Nikon camera. It is very well made and keeps the iPad secure.

I use the case for my iPad 3 in a variety of environments, including sand, water and around heavy machinery and chemicals. I've had it for less than a month, and already it's saved my iPad several times over. The case is well built with solid hinges and a decent (though not amazing) latch, but it seems like it will hold. The foam inserts don't seem thick enough to provide much protection from a high fall (>6 ft) to hard ground, but should be sufficient for most impacts (it's already survived a couple shorter falls to softer surfaces). I love that the case itself if so light, and easily fits anywhere. I wish I had seen the i1075/1075CC prior to purchasing this case though, and would definitely recommend the slightly larger 1075 if you need to store a keyboard or accessories with your tablet. If you're just looking for tablet protection though, this case is the way to go, and the best one I've found so far.
