I needed a reliably waterproof case to protect my Nikon D5300 while kayaking. The trick: finding the right size case that could be carried either in the cockpit for easy access or in the rear hatch. The 1200 fits comfortably either between my knees or under my legs just in front of the seat. It also fits readily in the rear hatch. A total "win-win"!!!

If you value what you own, then I recommend a pelican case. Water tight.

Pelican cases are the best, but this one just happened to be too small for my camera to easily fit without removing the lens. If you are tight on space, you can fit a dslr in this case while removing the lens and storing them side-by-side, but I wanted the option of storing it with the lens on the body. For dimensions reference, I have a k-5 ii.

This case is bomber. Perfect for traveling because you never have to worry about your gear, and you can lock it.

Pros: Heck, it's a Pelican. Quality, solid, versatile. Has holes on each end for dual security or a sized Kensington lock. Foam padding can be easily sized/inserted/removed and factory foam can be plucked/trimmed to exactly fit and securely protect your valuable / sensitive items. As a casual photographer I only use it when on travel/camping/boating or extreme weather / environmental conditions for camera equipment. Since the factory foam padding is removable, I have several separate homemade foam padding configurations to accommodate other items, and I frequently use it to safely/securely transport hand held firearms, ammo, clips and accessories. Cons: It's not bulletproof. :o) Size limits compatibility for certain items. Other Thoughts: Consider its interior, laid down flat (less padding) dimensions: 9.25" Width x 7.12" Depth x 4.12" Height (Factory bottom base padding is 1/2" and separate bottom Pick & Pluck padding is 2 1/8".) Do your homework. Make sure your DSLR and lens / necessary equip. will fit with adequate or factory padding. There are various sizes out there that can meet your particular needs.

I use this case to transport photo and radio equipment, and for sure I feel safe when my equipment is in this case. It's simply a quality product and you got a lot for this money, the hinge is perfect and the lock mechanism is very reliable even if is made of plastic, you relly don't feel the necessity of an additional safety lock unless you have to leave the case unattended. The foam is very easy to shape. The only small drowback is that when the case is empty or packed whith light stuff and you open it tend to unbalance to the lid side.

This kept my lenses and camera dry and protected while I was overseas on assignment. Adorama's service is excellent, I had my Pelican case quickly, and the prices are the best Ive seen out there. I am definately ordering form them again.

Great case. The pick and play foam was used to protect a camera which was put into and taken out of the case frequently. The foam did not hold up to frequeny use. I replaced it with a single piece of 2" high density foam

Got this case for my wifes video camera. We had the camera for a month and it already save the camera from getting crushed.
