The Pelican 1552 Foam Set is a two piece set of replacement Pick 'N Pluck foam for the Pelican 1550 case.

Great, sturdy case. Feels like it is very durable and I feel confident transporting my VH300 head and pedals. I have already taken it on a few trips and my gear was completely safe. 

My only complaint is the foam - it is 2 large bricks stacked on top of one another, diced in the center so you can form it to the gear you want stored. The issue is that there is no easy way to cut the foam horizontally, so if your item is shorter/larger than the precut foam brick, it either won't fit or jump up and down in the box. I had to remove the foam bricks, and cut each in half horizontally with an xacto knife to get my desired height.

Exactly as advertised. Pelican Products are always perfect for a more rugged situation. This will house a portable Amateur HF radio station so it needed to be able to take a beating and still protect the components inside.

This case is huge!!  Actually deeper than what I was needing but now that I have it I wouldn't trade it. One trip to the airport solved that for me as I saw it get dropped when checking baggage.  The clerk apologized profusely and when I said, "Don't worry about it", I thought she was going to cry!  Fantastic product that protected and saved $ worth of lenses!!

Large for a Reason!

I have used Pelican products for years on whitewater rivers and in my vehicles. We subject them to more abuse than 95% of people would ever consider. They have all stayed dry in multiple whitewater raft flips on some of the biggest rivers in the world. They get tossed around in trailers and generally shown little respect for the damage that would occur to most cases. 

I purchased the 1550 as I have outgrown my 1500 for the amount of things that I carry for repairing people when something goes horribly wrong. There is still plenty of space in the new box, meaning I will need to find more lifesaving items to fill it! 

As to the old case, It gets the kit from my personal vehicle moved into it as that one is also out of space. The r1500 is about 12 years old and still going strong.

Bought to protect camera gear in a marine environment.  Initially to use while canoeing but case is too large to use in a solo canoe/kayak.  I'm keeping it to store most of my gear and bought a second smaller case (1450) to take just a camera body and a couple of lenses in the canoe.  It's very sturdy but is quite heavy keeping it from being a 5 star rating.

Its has the avability to lock the case if needed protecting your equipment. I loke the added lock down clips on the the camera so it doesn't pop open.

I have many Pelican cases of different sizes. I use them for cameras, telescopes, microscopes, first aid, oxygen kits, firearms transport, and the list goes on and on. Pelican cases are great, strong, watertight cases for whatever your needs.

2 layers of foam for multiple object protection

Any sensitive, delicate or valuable equipment is safe under most circumstances.  I wouldn't test it with a tank or a bull dozer but there are very good reasons the military and emergency services use these cases.  Expensive but you get what you pay for.  Don't depend on cheap boxes for protecting expensive things.  While it is bulky it has to be for the foam padding.  I have used this very case in fire and EMS.  When lives depend upon your equipment this is what you want.

The best

The Pelican 1550 is perfect for me. With it, I have my camera body, lenses, batteries, charger, and filters always organized, protected, and easily transported. I wouldn't think of using anything else.

Best protective case on the market

This case is my first with the two stage latches.  Some have said they can pop open due to rough handling, but one cross country trip and that is not the case, at least for me.  Typical Pelican quality, in a nondescript color.

Great stuff

The 1550 Pelican case is a very well built case.  There is plenty of room for gear, and with the foam inserts, very very protective of your equipment.

Nice Case, plenty of room

I needed a transport case to carry my camera and lenses off road and into the mountains by motorcycle. This Pelican case more than tackles that assignment. Rugged, watertight, and dustproof are are a few of the features I was looking for. I highly recommend Pelican cases for all your expensive camera equipment.
