It's a Pelican. Enough said. The best protective gun case made. It's big and heavy but, if you want supreme protection, there's none better.

Pelican 1720 just like any other Pelican products are outstanding. I've used them exclusively in Scuba Diving and #1720 is for my Rifle. Build, as always, like a rock with wheels on one side for ease of rolling. Handles on strategic locations with purge valve for water immersion. Bit hefty but well build always comes with heft. Foam that comes with 1720 is supple and firm to be custom cut to fit one's needs. I'v always trusted the brand. I guessed there are other manufacturer out there but I don't want to gamble. Five Star for me!

First saw this indestructible case advertised by GoWesty, a California parts and restoration specialist for Volkswagen vanagon/buses. They are one of the largest suppliers of restoration and refurbishing products for Volkswagen 2wd and 4wd Syncro campmobiles. Depending on the number of off road accessories installed, there is a constant growing need for additional secure storage. Pelican provided an indestructible storage case and GoWesty supplied a kit that allows this case to fit perfectly into the standard Vanagon roof luggage space, plus locks it there securely. Rather than an eyesore, the Pelican case enhances the appearance.

Pelican cases are very well constructed and do what they are designed to do. On the down side, they are heavy, but that also stands for strength, and a Pelican case is very strong! For how well they protect my items, cost is very minimal too. They've always been my 1st choice and have never let me down.

Without eggshell padding the gun moves around some. The answer of course is to cut out the gun outline in the foam, but that negates using it for different guns later on.

I was needing a wheeled case to help me transport some of my photo equipment when I go to a client's location. In this particular case, I was able to fit my entire 12' backdrop kit (crossbar and 2 lightstands), plus two more lightstands, and my collapsed 3'x4' softbox. This case is TOUGH, warrantied forever, and makes getting my gear transported much eaiser!
