Flickers Like Mad!
I bought this flashlight about one year ago as a gift, but ended up keeping it for myself. I finally cut open the package today (Nov 1, 2018), inserted new Duracell alkaline batteries, and turned on the flashlight. In both low and high settings, it flickers incessantly (as if it's in some random, super-fast strobe mode). So very annoying! Even more so in the dark! Tried rechargeable batteries but got same result. The metal housing, screw threads, black finish, switch, and lens seem to be of very good build quality. Beam's intensity is pretty good too. But a flashlight's purpose is to illuminate...which this one does horribly! Performs like a cheap off-brand. Based on all the positive reviews, I suppose I'm the unfortunate customer who got a lemon. I will have to rate it as made-in-China junk until Pelican replaces it with a functioning one under the lifetime guarantee.

Will survive any apocalyptic doom - and then light the way.
Very sturdy flashlight, built like a tank. Extremely bright, and has a strobe function in case you need to disorient an assailant.

Great Light!
Great light for the money. It's compact, but still puts out more than enough light for everyday tasks or even work. I really enjoy the knurling on the tube- enough grip where it doesn't feel like it's going to slip out of your hand, but not aggressive enough to cause extra wear and tear on jeans or pants. I'd give the light five stars, but the beam does not focus. Overall, great light for a good price.

POWERFUL LITTLE LIGHT
I use the flashlight when walking the dog at night. I must admit

Pelican Tactical 2AA Flashlight
This is a nice solid flashlight and I like that it works with AA batteries. So far it’s been a great little flashlight and it’s reassuring to know that it has a lifetime warranty.

Very bright light
Pelican 170 luminous is much brighter than my other 300 luminous light. But, it needs a shelth/ring to carry.
