I use this synch cord to trigger a manual battery flash in a softbox. I also own several other Paramount cords in different lengths and with different connectors for different studio flashes and flash to camera distances. The first time it required a bit of effort to connect it to the sync terminal in my Nikon D810 because the tip is intentionally bend slightly off center for better contact. It doesn’t fall off like some other cord brands. Paramount recommends changing the cords every year but, my Paramount cords have been in use for several years without failure. Perhaps some other brands need yearly changes. I don’t think a wireless trigger is a requirement. The cords are more reliable and don’t use batteries.

Great fit for unusual connections

A great (if the only) way to connect a large format 4x5 camera lens to small, easy to carry battery powered 35mm flash. Do be careful of the tips on the cord, as they are very, very tight if they are pushed all the way on the sync terminals. I damaged my lens - the cord pulled out the entire sync post! - as the tip wouldn't release from the lens, causing a expensive repair. The "Paramount PC conditioner plus" tool is a must to loosen up the tips before you use this cord on your camera/lens/flash.

Heavy Duty Cords - 5 Foot Coiled ( 21 Inch Unextended - Extends to 5 feet ) B-6C PC to PC (Male to Male)

PC Standard Tip: For most professional cameras. Heavier tip construction provides a snug fit, will not fall out of camera or lens. Not recommended for Olympus, Minolta, Canon or other 35MM cameras, unless you loosen the PC with the "PC Conditioner Plus".

Lightweight cords don't stand up. They break, they short and their tips get loose, fall out, don't make contact. Heavy duty Paramount cords feature doubly insulated, heavy gauge wire for strength. Wires within the cords are positioned in parallel to eliminate twisting, knotting, kinking, and breaking, and they're individually stranded and tinned for maximum conductivity. Cord coils keep their spring and elasticity through years of use.

These PC Tips are stronger, too. Made of molded plastic with conductors wrapped between metal and nylon bushings, they permit the PC to rotate 360 degrees without breaking. Paramount tips seat solidly for reliable contact.

Paramount PC construction represents a significant improvement over traditional soldered connectors, which are brittle and often break. The heavy metal construction on the PC's resists splitting.
