This articulated boom pole works well. The clamp locks the distal arm in place without creep, and the shock mount is of adequate construction. The whole pole is just about the right length for my needs -- good horizontal reach and has sufficient extension to be able to position a mic overhead out of a video shot or to position the mic low when doing an audio interview while keeping suffcient social distance. At first I found the unit a bit heavier than I had expected, but it is not so heavy as to be a problem holding it for a video or audio interview.

Stable, easy to adjust and mount, plenty long enough to stay out of the shot

This is a very useful boom pole and was exactly was I was looking for. It is a great length to capture sound from a distance. It is sturdy and strong, will not break easily. If you are on a low budget this would be a great buy. Though unless you have a mic that will fit inside the netting designed to hold a professional mic or a mic with a place to screw in the end of it which is 5/8 inch, it might not work.

The ProAm 8' Articulated Boom Pole with Adjustable Top Arm and Shock Mount is designed to help your productions move faster and smoother. The shock mount has two separate sets of rubber bands to hold the mic in place which keeps the microphone well isolated. It can hold virtually any mic from handhelds to shotguns. It connects to the pole with 5/8" threads. This boom pole has a great advantage to straight boom poles. The boom pole's articulated arm gives you the ability to adjust the bend, you're able to get closer to shots without being in view of the camera. This means the pole can be shorter and lighter. And anyone that has ever had the task of holding the boom mic pole for the duration of a production will tell you that a shorter and lighter pole and Weights only 3 lbs (1.3kg). The pole also has a clip to hold the mic cable. It collapses to 34" (86cm) in one piece so there aren't separate sections to screw and twist together.
