I bought this sand bag for outdoor shoots with a Flashpoint XPLOR600 using a soft box or umbrella - perfect for me, the bag  should last me for a long time. I put 5 pounds of sand in each side - put the sand in a heavy duty ziplock bag and they slipped right in with no mess. I would buy another for sure.

Really Well Made Bag

Holds 15lbs of sand, even more with shot. Back of handle strip has rubber grip surface integrated into it for non slippage in a variety of uses.

As good as any, better than many.

I ordered these to replace Impact brand sand bags. These are less expensive, but are twice the quality. Each compartment has 3 layers of closure to keep in sand. 2 separate ykk zippers as well as a velcor closure. Whereas the Impact bags only have 1 layer (zipper). The handle has a rubber coating on the underside to prevent them from slipping off of your stand.

Good bags

As someone who has always worked with high end equipment in the film business, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these sand bags.  I shoot stills on my own and didn't want to spend a lot of money on sand/shot bags but also realized that you get what you pay for.  In this case, you get more than you pay for.  Double zipper with velcro closures, constructed from durable materials, make this a must buy.  It's ashamed that they are being discontinued.  Buy them while you can.

These are well built, and inexpensive. I bought enough sand at the local hardware store to fill five bags, for about $6. They will work great to weigh down my background stand and several lights.
