Hao W : What's the difference between this set of grid and 7" reflector + grid?ROBERT T : this grid is just for the profoto B1 and B2 and does not include a reflector. This is attached directly to the front of the strobe without a reflector.PAUL B : This set of grids mounts directly to the barrel of the light and does not allow any other reflector or light shaper to be put on unless the other is put on first. With the larger 7" reflector and grids the grids are connected to the reflector not the light. The smaller ones are much smaller, easier to travel with, and mount very quickly.STEVE T : These fit right over the B1 and B2 heads. The 7" are for the 7" Profoto reflectors.DAVE B : These grids are designed for the off camera flash system (b1 and b2). They mount into a grid holder and then directly onto the head. They are not used with a reflector.michael w : These are meant for the Profoto B1 and B2 which have an LED modeling light. They are plastic and would melt using normal modeling lights. .They also have their own holder that attaches to the light with the grid snapped inside. The 7" grid is used with a zoom reflector and is made of "not plastic", this combo can be also be used with the B1 and B2 but is less compact. The benefit of the zoom reflector is that it allows the user to move the reflector on the body of light which also determines light spread with or without the grids attached.KEITH B : This set is designed for use with the B1 & B2 heads only. They are smaller in diameter and attach to those heads using a supplied holder. The 7" reflector allows the use of 7" diameter grid spots. This reflector can be attached to any of the Profoto heads including the B1 and B2 but you need to use the 7" grids with it.

Great Grids

I wouldn't use my B1X without a grid now. This eliminates flare I get when I use them as a side light to back light the hair. Great and easy grids to use.

How it should be done

I wish grids for my other strobes was this easy, practically a no-brainer. Not meant for regular halogen modeling lamps though. Works great with my B1's and B2.

Spot on!

I would recommend this product. What I like is the control of the light spill. They go on easy and has a nice storage case.

Worth every penny.

Yes it's plastic and the grid degree level could be labelled more clearly but it is unbeatable for the price. As a bonus: if you plan to use gels with the grid, you can simply cut them to the same size as the grid inserts and then sandwich it between the grid and holder.

The Profoto Off-Camera Flash Grid Kit is a small and super portable kit consisting of a holder and three different honeycomb grids. Attach any of the three grids in front of the off-camera flash to reduce its light spread to either 10deg., 20deg. or 30deg. This gives you a direct, circular shape of light that can be used for many applications, such as accent or hair light, intriguing background effects or simply for controlling stray light. The grids are easily attached to off-camera flash in a matter of seconds. Each grid can also be used together with the off-camera flash Snoot and the off-camera flash Barndoor, thanks to a unique stacking system.
