Profoto Softbox
Profoto has designed a new line of softboxes for creators who need to work fast and travel light but will accept no compromise in quality. With three popular shapes and a slew of accessories, these new softboxes are a perfect way to shape the light for your portrait, still life, fashion, or any other work that requires precision and versatility. There is no need to carry a speedring; these new boxes have a built-in mount that can connect to Proheads, the B10 line, and the A2 (with the OCF Adapter II).
Three Sizes, Three Diffusors
Profoto has launched this new softbox line with three boxes: A classic rectangular 2x3’ box, a 3’ Octa box, and a 1x4’ strip box. Each comes standard with a 1-stop diffusion fabric for a classic soft light. Profoto offers diffusion kits of 0.5 stops and 1.5 stops, allowing creators to craft more punchy specular light or smoother, more diffuse light depending on the subject and vibe of the shoot.
Accessories
Beyond the diffusion kits, Profoto has many accessories for these new softboxes, allowing maximum versatility on set. A softgrid is available for all three boxes. Softgrids reduce the spread of light for more control over the look of our images. For the 1x4’ strip box, Profoto offers a strip mask, narrowing the light shaper further, perfect for creating slim highlights on bottles or cutting light spread horizontally. An edge mask is available for the 2x3’ rectangle and 3’ octa boxes. This accessory helps to eliminate hot spots and create contoured light.
