Profoto 32.8' Extension Cable for ProHead, Open Box

Take your lighting setup to the next level with the 32.8' Extension Cable for ProHead, featuring Profoto's latest advancements in design and safety. From 2023 onwards, Profoto has enhanced all ProHeads and their extension cables with new plugs and sockets, aligning with the latest international safety standards. This upgrade ensures that all ProHeads now come with a new plug, or male connector, on the lamp head cable, a change implemented in the production line since 2022. Despite these improvements, the part numbers for ProHeads remain unchanged, maintaining consistency for users.

The ProHead extension cables have also been updated to include both the new plug (male connector) and a new socket (female connector), mirroring the design of the ProHeads for seamless compatibility. It's important to note that older extension cables may not be compatible with the new socket system on ProHeads. To ensure full compatibility with current and future products, Profoto recommends upgrading through their service department.

For those with older head extension cables, Profoto offers a one-time upgrade path. The new socket (female connector) is designed to be fully compatible with both old and new plug versions, while the new plug (male connector) offers limited mechanical compatibility with older socket versions. The new plug is fully compatible with sockets on Pro-8, Pro-10, and Pro-11 packs, as well as the new socket on updated extension cables (P/N 333528 and 333529) and the new socket service part (P/N 482201).

However, the new plug has a tight mechanical tolerance fit with older type sockets on Pro-5, Pro-6, and Pro-7 packs, meaning Profoto can no longer supply new compatible extension cables and heads for these packs. The same compatibility issue applies to older type sockets on expired extension cables (P/N 333518 and 333519). To resolve this, the old socket on these extension cables can be service replaced with the new female connector service part (482201).
