Austin A : Can this be used with the Profoto Acute2?
Bob C : does this B2 head have a 115 v plug?7456 S : Hi Bop, well yes and no. So the generator can be connected to main power while in use (120V - same thing ) but there is a power brick. I use 2 x b2 heads on one generator for my macro work. Generator has the battery but is also connected to main power. It works perfectly and I can work all day. There is an option in the menu to prevent the modeling lights from turning off and I use it all the time, that's why connecting it to main power is important for me. I also have a B1X. That one can not be connected to main power while in use because the battery needs to be disconnected from the device to have access to the power connection (a boomer) But then the battery life of B1x is significantly longer than that of B2. Also notice that the B2 modeling light is NOT dimmable, the B1X is. Your not asking but anyway: I use the B2 for portrait (clamp shell lighting) and macro work in the studio. But for outside work it's not really powerful enough. There I grab my trusty B1x and a magnum reflector. And as usual Profoto gear is reliable for hard core professional use and abuse. So yea, go for it it's an investment type of gear. The battery pack can be plugged in to AC to recharge the battery while in use.
