I recently purchased a Canon 5D kit.This battery came with the kit. I used the battery one time and when I recharged it, the recharge status was red. It will not hold a charge like the Canon battery. I recommend spending a few more bucks and getting the real thing.

Works for the 6D and the battery indicators are fine. You'll need couple of spare batteries since the wifi/gps sucks down battery pretty fast. GPS is always on unless you explicitly turn it off.

For a generic brand this battery holds a great charge. Battery doesn't have the Canon name but it doesn't matter.

This battery is primarily used as a backup either while in the field or during extensive travel. The GPS function on my 6D is something of a power hog; so having a reliable backup at a lesser cost is a good thing.
