If you close the screen and use the viewfinder you get much longer 3+hrs. recording time, long enough to record a HS football game, I switch to a fresh battery at 1/2 time out of habit, but I have recorded the entire game on one battery when I loaned my 2nd battery to another parent recording the game.KEVIN P : 8 hours
