Questions & Answers

Ken B : How do you wash out the Print Shield from the HVLP sprayer?ANDREW R : For tech support or troubleshooting I'd recommend contacting the manufacturer.
Shopper : I just purchased this product for the first time in large white bottle and not in normal spray can. Question is how is this sprayed onto the print for protection as NO sprayer came with the bottle? Thank you.. Fred VaudrinJACQUES P : Many use HVLP sprayers such as the Wagner dual control (about $68 from Home depot). A handy alternative is the sprayer from Preval, under $10 also from HD.DAVE J : you need to use a hvlp (high volume, low pressure) sprayer to use the product. It's what they use in auto body shops to paint cars.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?Andrew M : Excellent coating that provides some UV protection and really good scratch / surface protection, while changing the print surface almost imperceptibly, unlike most other varnishes that come in Satin, Matte, and Gloss. This is the only coating I've found that has these properties. Plus the 1l bottle can be easily HVLP sprayed for use on large prints where spray cans won't work.ROBERT A : what I use.

Superb protective coat for inkjets

Spray with a small lacquer spray gun using 45 PSI compressed air. Holding gun about 6-8 inches from surface, insuring spray is perpendicular to surface, make three overlapping coats, going from top to bottom on first and last, bottom to top on second. Lacquer thinner cleanup. Excellent UV, scuff and water resistance. No visible effect on surface. Completely clear, does not affect matte/gloss finish.) Very economical, coverage costs about 3-4 cents per square foot. Water resistance is quite good, "coke spill" blotted up results in near-perfect restoration of original finish, no staining or other effect on color. There are no adverse results observed.

Excellent for Posters and Maps

Requires small laquer sprayer using compressor, cleans with laquer thinner. Protects against UV, yellowing, scuffing, humidity and is water reistant. I produce large board game maps (48 x 72 inches)on an HP DesignJet on which counters are placed and moved. PremierArt Print shield is invisible, easy to apply, and provides excellent protection in this environment. There is nothing else like it. It is inexpenisve, when used and applied properly. It does require wearng a mask and proper ventilation during application. Drys virtually instantly. We apply three coats.
