Shopper : Can this product be used with watercolor or acrylic paintings?ANDREW R : I would inquire with the manufacturer. As stated in the product overview, this material is compatible with inkjet media. There is no indication that this material is compatible with other art media (such as watercolor, acrylic, etc.).
Shopper : Is this product applied before or after the print is stretched onto the frame? What type of brush is best? Thanks for the help, JimCHRIS S : I apply it before I stretch it and I use a small foam roller, there are some good videos on YouTube that you should find helpfulGWENDOLYN AWEN J : Apply before stretching onto frame. Best used with spray gun or streaking can occur. Need the correct humidity especially if applying by brush or roller other wise if your workspace is hot and dry it will cause sealer to set too fast and cause streaks especially with the matte sealer.MATT M : It is applied prior to stretching. Bad experience

I don't know whether it was bad product or something with Epson's canvas, but the coating went on milky and never dried clear, ruining several canvas prints.

Roller Application Difficult

I tape an image o be coated to a large piece of foam board. I apply this product with a roller and find it difficult to get an even coat. Two coats will usually give me good coverage. Be sure to dilute with 20% water as suggested.

I've used this for a while

I've seen people complain about how this product goes on to a canvas. You can end up with texture and bubble marks etc. if you don't use it correctly. It needs to be mixed with some water and it needs to be rolled on with varying amounts of pressure. Start with a lot of pressure in different directions and end up with just the weight of the roller. If you follow the online videos you will be good.

destroyed my canvas prints

I applied as directed using a foam roller to HP Pro Canvas printed on an HP Z3200 44" wide printer using genuine HP pigmented inks. Premier Art Eco Matte coating left the black areas mottled and muted. The coating dried with a texture. The product seemed to foam as it was rolled on the print leaving tiny bubbles all over the print which dried with a very bad surface. The prints are un-usable. I lost several hundred dollars of canvas. This was my first experience with this product. I usually use ClearShield Matte.
