The Sony RX10 V is the camera of choice when you need an all-in-one solution that captures everything from wide scenes to the finest details. The fifth generation of Sony’s popular RX10-series utilizes a 20.1-megapixel sensor paired with a 24-600mm f2.4-4.0 lens and the BIONZ XR Processor, delivering 30fps blackout-free burst shooting and 4K120p video recording. AI-powered subject recognition has been greatly improved and helps the camera recognize a variety of targets, ensuring both photos and videos stay sharp and in focus at all times, even in harsh lighting or busy scenes. Compared to its predecessor, the RX10 V can take 630 shots (~50% more) with the NP-FZ100 battery. Video shooters will enjoy the flexibility of the S-Cinetone profile for footage that doesn’t need color grading in post, or the option to use S-Log3 for those who enjoy processing their footage.
The RX10 V inherits the same impressive 25x optical zoom as other RX10-series cameras, with its 24-600mm (equivalent) f2.4-4.0 ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* lens. This lens includes eight extra-low-dispersion elements, including two aspherical ED elements, and ZEISS T* coating. Optical SteadyShot image stabilization helps to ensure sharp images when shooting handheld across the focal range.

A 1.0-type Exmor RS stacked backside-illuminated CMOS sensor is equipped in the RX10 V, delivering 20.1 megapixels and outstanding image quality. This stacked sensor boosts signal processing speed, paving the way for faster rendering and blackout-free burst shooting up to 30 fps. During burst shooting, up to 60 AF/AE calculations are performed per second to ensure your subject stays in focus at all times. The sensor pairs perfectly with Sony’s highly acclaimed BIONZ XR image processor, which balances excellent noise-reduction capabilities with top-line image quality and speed, ensuring the images produced by the RX10 V are outstanding.

Fast Hybrid AF uses 575 phase-detection autofocus points, combined with contrast detection, to cover 70.6% of the image sensor, making it ideal for detecting even small or highly active subjects. The BIONZ XR processor has significantly improved subject recognition and tracking, allowing the user to recognize Human, Animal, Bird, Insect, Car/Train, and Airplane subjects. For those who capture some or all of the mentioned subjects in a single shot, an Auto mode is available that automatically detects the subject. For humans specifically, the RX10 V recognizes human eyes, in addition to body and head position, to accurately focus even when the face is obscured, or the subject looks away from the camera. Touch Tracking is another feature that can automatically track a subject when the LCD monitor is touched, further improving the speed and ease of use of the RX10 V.

4K120p recording is available and can be processed for 5x slow motion. An S&Q mode is also available to produce slow-motion footage without processing. Numerous video recording formats are available, including 10-bit 4:2:2 recording and All-Intra compression. For users who want to capture the entire image sensor, 4K60p footage is available with no crop. For audio capture, a built-in digital audio interface on the Multi-Interface Shoe allows connection to compatible Sony microphones to record at 48 kHz/24-bit, with two or four channels.

The S-Cinetone picture profile offers users cinematic, natural midtones for realistic, natural-looking skin tones, along with soft colors and beautiful highlights, all without the need for color grading. On the other hand, users can use the S-Log3 gamma curve to maintain smooth, natural gradations from shadows to mid-grey, allowing more room to recover scenes with deep shadows and bright highlights and giving creators more opportunities to tune colors in their footage in post-processing. S-Gamut3 and S-Gamut3.Cine color spaces are supported, and users can import custom LUTs to use as alternatives to the preset picture profiles. Whether you’re a user who wants to capture share-ready footage straight out of the camera, or you want to shoot to edit, the RX10 V can do it all.

The updated D-Range Optimizer (DRO) balances bright highlights and dark shadows and offers a wider range of strength settings, up to Lv8. At higher levels, DRO lifts shadow areas in strong backlight, delivering more natural-looking portrait shots.
Livestreaming is available in 4K resolution via USB (UVC/UAC) connection in addition to wireless or wired LAN networks. When streaming via LAN, you can record to the camera’s memory card while streaming live video at 4K30p. RTMP, RTMPS, and SRT protocols are supported.

The RX10 V comes equipped with a 3.68-million-dot Quad-VGA OLED viewfinder with 0.78x magnification and a frame rate up to 120 fps. The histogram and level indicator can be displayed simultaneously, giving users more on-screen tools to help capture better images. A 1.62-million-dot rear LCD touchscreen tilts both up and down to make shooting more comfortable from a variety of positions. The LCD monitor automatically adjusts as you switch between horizontal and vertical shooting modes, making the camera settings more legible as you adjust composition. Compared to the RX10 IV, grip contours have been improved to make the RX10 V more comfortable to use over a long day of shooting. A SuperSpeed USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C terminal allows for fast USB data transfer, PC remote shooting, power delivery, and image backup. The RX10 V has a single UHS-II SD card slot that supports fast memory cards, improving buffer speeds and enabling longer burst shooting.
