I purchased this Gimbal Head in May of 2022. I have used it many times and appreciated its light weight and ease of use. It is extremely stable with both my 400 mm and 600 mm Sony lenses. Recently, while photographing the Eclipse on 4/8/2024, in Central Arkansas, the panning knob failed to tighten. I contacted ProMediaGear the next day. They immediately told me that there was an issue with my version of this Gimbal and they would be sending a free replacement knob. I received the knob, watched a quick video they supplied, and replaced my panning knob assembly with a new one, in approximately 1 minute. It is beefier than the old knob and works perfectly. I appreciate their customer support and no hassle support of their products. I will purchase from them again.

Great product. Small and light weight with nice smooth swing and turn movement. The downside: it does not have a lock switch to secure the swing arm; the ARCA plate knob has a gritty feel while tightening; I prefer rubber knobs rather than plastic. The last two issues are relatively minor. All in all, it’s a very nice product.

I am a professional portrait photographer, that said I have always handheld. Honestly I have tried my hardest over the years to embrace the tripod but I hated them , well I am absolutely IN LOVE with the PMG KatanaJr. It arrived today and I just could not be more pleased with something so quickly. The reason I purchased was to try and help my bird photography which is something I do only for me ( not for my business) I set it up today and tried a bit of Bee photography in my front yard and while far from perfect ( that is on me not the Gimbal ) I can see the promise , I had a senior portrait session later today and Used the gimbal the entire time and it really made things nice ( I shoot fast lenses wide open 1.4 etc ) and the results were quite sublime. I cant share those as it is a Minor BUT I can share a Bee image or two

This is one fine piece of equipment. I am using it with a 10 pound lens and it does the job without a sweat. It is smooth as butter, easy to control and one heck of an addition to my ability to shoot fast moving things. PROMEDIAGEAR makes superb products. I consider the company as a serious competitor to Really Right Stuff.

This is one silky smooth gimbal head thanks to the sealed ball bearings. You can spin it and will rotate almost indefinitely. Plus the looks make it stand out. I wanted to get the full size model but it was a lot bigger, this one is perfect. I can't imagine ever needing more. It's also very light with the designed cut-outs and aircraft aluminum. I have the Nikor 200-500 and it is perfect. It would have to problems with the big pro 500 and/or 600 lens. It is very easy to get balanced, and stays wherever you point it with zero pressure from the friction knob. I can't think of one negative for this product. HIGHLY Recommend.

Love this gimbel, wanted something with quality and lightweight to go with carbon fiber tripod , extremely well built.. Small issue with nikon 200-500 arm only having 1 screw to fasten it too. Called the pro media and they are very willing to help solve the problem. very good support . no problem for lightweight lense, but these 15-600 and 200-500 are very heavy and need secure suuport to keep from twisting.. I am sure we will solve the issue ..otherwise i recommend this gimbal.
