This L-Bracket works perfectly. ProMediaGear really thought this through when designing it. One of the things that sets this apart from other brands is that the vertical arm is offset and moved forward. This may look strange but it has a significant purpose. By moving it forward it give you the freedom to use the articulated LCD screen however you want without it movement being impeded by the L-Bracket. Additionally you can adjust to the vertical arm to be closer to or away from the camera body. This makes inserting or removing cables into the camera ports much easier and makes it so you don't have to crimp the cables to get them in between the L-bracket and the camera. These are features not found on most other brands. It's a treat to work with well designed gear. The L-bracket is lightweight but very sturdy. This is a great choice for your camera.

Hi highly recommend the ProMediaGear PLCR 56-L Bracket. Precise fit and high-quality build: Made from aircraft-grade aluminum, it's sturdy and secure. Convenient features: Includes a QD strap port and maintains access to all ports and the battery compartment. Enhanced stability: Improves sharpness, especially in low light, and allows for quick switching between horizontal and vertical shooting. Arca-Swiss compatibility: Works seamlessly with compatible tripod heads. A worthwhile investment for serious R5 users, despite the premium price.

After 1 day of using this L-bracket (or plate) from ProMediaGear, I can say that I'm a bit confused how I had been doing without it before. Rock solid seems like the right word choice to describe tis product. I was a bit worried about a solid feel due to being a 2-piece system, as compared to all the other solid one piece products (with notches for the screen) - i'm here to say my worries were unfounded. When locked up after a quick and easy adjustment (magnetic allen key keeper!!) it felt like a one pice solid hunk of metal. Other reviews mentioned screen articulation, which was of great interest to me, as I had been considering other products with the "screen notch" - until i saw a picture showing the screen tilted to fit within the notch and "allowed" to articulate within the confines of the notch - which is not full motion range. What stood out to me was how the screen could come in contact with the notch edges, allowing for the potential to damage the screen. I know how my life works that is an accident waiting to happen. Other reviewers mentioned using the forward shifted portrait-orientation plate as a grip, which i was more dubious about. After 1 day of using this, I can say that I agree completely - you will find yourself gripping your camera in a new way that, to me, feels more solid and stable. That ability to add other items to the bracket with the many threaded locations is a plus as well. Most people should end up extremely satisfied with this product from ProMediaGear - I don't believe I will be taking it off my R5 anytime soon.

I wanted to be able to use my BlackRapid strap with my Canon R5 while maintaining the ability to use a tripod at the same time. Thus an L-bracket was necessary for attaching my single point BR strap screw to the L-bracket while using an Arca Swiss clamp for my tripod. BlackRapid recommended a 3 Legged Thing L-bracket. However, after contacting 3 Legged Thing they could not substantiate that recommendation as the R5 and heavy lens is a lot for the bracket's vertical piece to hold. Additionally the 3 Legged Thing L-bracket does not allow full tilt screen rotation like the ProMediaGear bracket. After calling ProMediaGear several times and they kindly answered all my questions and concerns - I worded their L-bracket. I was pleased to see how tough this bracket is! Even attaching my BlackRapid strap to the vertical section and hanging a heavy R5 with 70-200 f2. 8 I don't feel like there is any change of the bracket failing or the horizontal piece sliding off (has internal slide safety stop screws). I even have access to a 1/4 20 thread on the bottom of the bracket to attach my Spider wrist strap and still have room for my 40mm ProMediaGear Arca Swiss clamp to grab fully onto the bracket. This bracket is machined with perfection, is solid and strong and has everything I was looking for without compromising my tilt screen operation. Thanks ProMediaGear for this product and your patience with all my questions.

I had to return the "L" bracket I purchased prior to this one because the range of motion for the flip out screen was unacceptable. This bracket fixed that problem and my flip out screen now has full range of motion. The design also makes it easy to grip the camera with my left hand while I use my right hand to change settings and trigger the shutter release.

I did a lot of research and expected this to be good...it was GREAT! I never take it off the camera, it makes the whole camera easier to hold and compose shots, it's easy to take verticals and horizontals, and it weighs virtually nothing. Probably one of the most important things I like about this is that the screen can come out and rotate at any angle.

This is a rugged, quality bracket, which has the vertical L offset toward the front of the camera. This allows the R5 LCD screen to fully articulate. Notice the elongated hole in the vertical portion that enables you to reach the lens release button and perhaps switches on your lens. There are plenty of screw holes that can be used for attachment points for strap brackets and other accessories. This also reduces weight. The sensor centerline is printed on both sides of the bracket so you can maintain the exact same composition going from landscape to portrait and vice versa on your mount--no fiddling with the tripod or mount. Both sides are Arca-Swiss compatible, of course. The vertical L also is useful when hand holding the camera. ProMediaGear as thought of everything on this beautifully machined bracket. It's pricey, but should last many years.

Completely satisfied. Works perfectly and nothing about it gets in the way of the flip LCD screen on my R6 or R5. Solid as a rock. Completely compatible with my Gitzo Traveller Tripod. My only question now is ahould I get one so I have one for each camera body ?.

I keep an L-bracket on each camera I own. I have Kirk and Really Right Stuff. Each works extremely well and the camera remains well-balanced. The brackets actually improve my ability to hand hold shots. Neither Kirk nor Really Right Stuff makes one that gets out of the way of the articulating screen on the R5. The ProMediaGear does get out of the way by moving the handle out in front of the camera on the left side. Ingenious except for one important detail. It throws the camera completely off-balance in your hands. I find it makes the camera very awkward to hand hold. I like how the camera has multiple attachment points. Kind of like one-half of a video cage. I have over a dozen Canaan EF L primes and zooms. I have not yet switched to RF glass. I use the adapter with. A control ring. This L-bracket design gets it in the way of the control ring from the left side. I do not have an RF lens, but I?ll wager it has the same design issue. Using the control ring is impractical from the right side. We already have enough operations for the right hand (especially with back button focus). This bracket is definitely built like a tank. Just about as heavy, too. My first reaction was that it seemed to double the weight of the R5. It is the heaviest L-bracket I?ve owned (or even picked up). If you want to use the articulation for the screen on your R5, then this is your only practical choice.

Best bracket for the Canon R5 camera or I would think any camera with an articulated back screen.

Built like a rock. Fits my R5 to a tee. So much more versatile than any of the dozens of L-brackets I?ve used.

Awesome product. Well built and feels very sturdy. It does what it supposed to do and doesn?t block the rotation of the screen like other L bracelets on the market.

This is a solidly built L-bracket, even when the vertical arm is fully extended to the left, providing a solid connection to the camera in either landscape or portrait positions with an Arca Swiss clamp. It provides COMPLETELY unfettered access to and movement of the R5 flip screen with ZERO interference unlike conventional L-brackets. This is because the vertical portion is offset toward the front of the camera. As a bonus, it also provides a welcome alternate "grip" for the left hand. It does not interfere with either the lens release button or the EF-RF adapter release lever...simply insert a finger through the vertical portion to access these controls. Onboard storage of the hex wrench is a nice touch (via a slot and magnet). The only drawback is potential blockage when using an EF-RF adapter with drop-in filters. I have yet to test this out but I believe could be alleviated by either 1) extending the vertical portion out or 2) releasing the adapter & rotating it when inserting / removing a drop-in filter. Obviously #2 would require extreme caution as the body and adapter would no longer be locked together! Otherwise, I'm very happy with this product for the R5.
