About Promise Technology J2

The Promise Technology Pegasus J2 256GB SSD Thunderbolt Storage Solution is a portable and light (under 5oz) storage solution that employs dual SSDs (solid state drives) for fast data access and bi-directional Thunderbolt technology for high throughput.

It features two 128GB mSATA drives running on a single SATA III 6.0 Gbps standard that can be configured in RAID 0 or 1 (using software RAID in Mac) or JBOD mode. It works with Apple's Time Machine for fast and efficient backups.

The unit is slightly larger than a smartphone or deck of cards and weighs under 5 ounces, making it one of the smallest Thunderbolt drives available right now. It can be powered solely with the Thunderbolt cable (optional, sold separately) or with the included AC adapter. With the Thunderbolt cable, you can see write speeds of up to 110MBps and read speeds of 270 MBps, but with the AC adapter, the throughput can reach up to 550 MBps write speeds and 750 MBps read speeds.

Promise Technology J2 Features
