On my Windows system, the drive is not recognized and I have another Thunderbolt enabled Unix and the drive is not recognized. These were not listed on Promise's support page so I wasn't surprised. However, since most of my heavy lifting is on a Mac (OS X 10.8.4), which is listed as supported, I was disappointed one cannot boot from the J4. I contacted Promise and they recommended reformatting the drives, which I did: I still could not boot from the J4. Promise said they would have an answer Thursday, June 13th. It is now the 17th and they are not responding to my pings for help. I have wasted 6 hours on this issue. Promise acts like it is a new issue but I have found the same observation going back to the beginning of the year in their forums. I cannot recommend this drive. It seems well built, quiet and fast but it fails as a JBOD device. Also, Promise fails at support.
