Questions & Answers

Oscar H : Will this adapter work with a Canon 500mm FD mirror relex lens on EOS 1D Mark II??ANDREW R : Should fit most Canon FD mount lenses as long as the rear element of the lens does not protrude. Works with most Canon EOS system DSLRs.
Hobert K : Will this adapter allow the Canon auto bellows, a FD mount, to be used on an eos or Rebel?TERRY M : Sorry, I have no idea about that.RAMON M : Yes it will work with the FD bellows. One thing to keep in mind is that when using with lenses, you will need to actually move the camera and tripod to get a sharp focus. I read many things before buying this adapter and must agree that most often you get a bit of a soft focus. On the plus side you can use your film camera lenses and if you invest the time you can figure out exactly what works best.SCOTT R : If the bellows is an FD mount, I think it should work on the Rebel. In my setup, I use an older FL mount 50mm micro lens and a 5D mark3.
Shopper : Will this adaptor work on a 5D mk iii?TERRY M : If you 5D mk ii will accept lenses that fit a Canon Rebel, then yes it will. I don't really even know what a 5d mk ii is though.

Tried Once

I've only mounted the adapter on my Canon Camera once with one of my old telephoto lens & it worked well.

Works okay for me

Works just fine I find it easier to use the led screen to focus the eye piece is not good for in focus shots

The ProOptic adapter worked, but ...

... I had to figure out the the adapter isn't perfect - at least with my Canon EOS 1D Mark II. The reason: you need to unlock the adapter from the camera body's bayonet, and ever so slightly loosen the lens so that the shutter will work. Otherwise, I am very happy with the adapter, as it allows me to use a Canon FD lens on my EOS.

I like mine.

I have several FD lenses that I wanted to use with my EOS camera. I took a chance an ordered this adapter, so far I really like it. A bit of a learning curve with it, you have to re-learn shutter speeds and f/stops, but we all need to know that stuff anyway.

Allows the use of Canon lenses with an FD mount to be used on Canon EOS camera bodies. The lenses will meter o.k. but will only focus MANUALLY. There is a 1.3x magnification factor and requires a one stop increase in exposure. This version includes a correction glass, so it will focus to infinity.
