This lens hood is fine.  It fits, it reverses.  Life is good.

No better deal for the money.  The shade fits perfectly and displays no flimsiness that I would expect at such a great price.  My assistants cant tell the difference from this and OEM.

Why spend more??

with the Canon 50mm 1.4 lens you most definitely need a lens hood to protect the focus mechanism when extending. I did not use my lens until I purchased this hood for protection. you may want to purchase a UV filter, but without the hood in place there is the possibility of damage to the focus mechanism if the front element housing is exposed.

Very happy with this lens hood! It definitely gets the job done, fits perfectly, and keeps the lens flares at bay. The price is right; the hood does its job: a winning combination.

Gets the job done--period.

Easy to attach and a snug fit. Unlike a screw-on lens hood, this one attaches facing reverse for easy storage. Very handy!

Might have to scuff up the inside of the hood to reduce some reflections, but not a prolbem.
