Shopper : I have a 70-300 canon zoom lense. Will this hood fit and is it interchangeable with other lenses?JEFFERSON M : It is designed for the 70-200 F2.8L lens. I believe it works with a few other L series lenses but make sure nothing lower than 70mm.ROBERT V : Canon makes the ET-65B hood for that lens, but I've found on a few occasions that OE hoods are back-ordreed or overpriced. Aftermarket hoods specified for the specific lens work just fine, and the only difference I've found is in the flocking inside. Remember on a zoom the hood is not as effective for the longer focal lengths since it has to allow the field of view at 70mm. The hoods are not interchangeable because they can cause vignetting on the wrong lens.

I bought this thinking I could save some $$. The description states is for a Canon 70-200 2.8 and not for the New Canon 70-200 2.8 II. Now i just have a piece of plastic that will end up in the trash can

Doesn't really fit this lens

I bought this for my Canon 70-200 2.8 L II and it doesn't fit . I can't get it to fit to my lens for anything. It is headed to the trash because I'm too lazy to return it. Shipping was freakishly fast.
