This is exactly what I was looking for. Its high quality, durable, fits perfectly on my Canon 17-40mm f/4 lens, and blocks out sun flares. I totally recommend this product.

Use a hood unless you think you can PhotoShop everything out.  Take photos right the the first time, use a hood.

Always use hoods!

Doesn't rattle, doesn't scratch easily when you bank it against a concrete wall, doesn't cost as much as Canon's. I gave it a four because I can't bring myself to offer 5 stars for a piece of plastic. Does what it says on the box.

Did Not Fit my Canon 16-35

I do not have a original Canon lens hood for my lens but this hood is very comparable to other lens hoods, (size,thickness). And it locks on tight and sturdy. So far it has also taken a few bumps and not loosened of cracked.
