Except for the lack of the word "Canon" this lens hood looks exactly like the OEM hood. Slips on petals out, or backwards so it'll fit in my over the shoulder bag. Recommended.

This hood worked perfectly on my new Canon lens. It's hard to believe Canon doesn't include hoods with all their lenses, but they don't. The OEM EW-83J costs $!!! This was $ and it fits great. Highly recommend this hood, spend the $ you save on other gear. Thanks Adorama for having this option available

I made the mistake of buying an even cheaper version off [elsewhere], waste of money and time. The other one required trimming to fit, was crooked (the petals werent vertical) and required way too much force to fit. Tossed that one in the garbage and ordered this one from Adorama. FITS PERFECT out of the box. Should have ordered this first. The exterior is a gloss plastic, but the interior has a matte finish, and while not flocking material, I dont see this surface as being too reflective of light or glare.

This hood fits perfectly to the lens. Photos come out without any issue. The hood also protects lens by taking any scratch, dump without allowing the impact on lens. Finally it costs lot less than Canon hood Adorama fast shipping and great service

I bought this hood thinking I was buying for a 58mm lens. Yes it was for the lens listed canon-s 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM lens. Yes I received the hood required EW-83J and it was way too big in dia. for the lens. I would recommend it if it fit. I might have done something wrong on my end not sure. They shipped it real fast and it came in great condition

This lens hood replaces an identical item I had purchased a year or so ago. While on a recent shoot in the west the camera, with lens hood attached, dropped from the tripod and landed on the end of the lens. Although the hood was damaged there was no other damage to the camera, lens, or mount. It fits and works as well as the much more expensive Canon version. I highly recommend it.

Owning a couple of the official "Canon" branded lens hoods, I was spoiled by the fit and feel of those expensive, but necessary, pieces of plastic. And was tempted to spend a lot more for the real deal. Not necessary. This Pro Optic hood may be a bit rough around the petal edges, but it fits the lens nice and snugly. Snaps into place. No worries about it twisting so the petals can be seen in the shot, as had been happening with a my previous cheapie unbranded hood. The entire surface is a professional-looking matte black finish that does not show finger prints like the smooth ones. And, even though there is no soft texture flocking, there's no chance of reflected light on the interior surface. A great value.
