SHIRLEY D H : Is this hood wide enough for an 18mm lens?LINDA S : NO. I would say it is not. I had a hint of the hood in my frames when all the way out but otherwise works great!JASON B : It is depending on the format of your camera. It works with a DX Nikon, but not a FX Nikon.MICHAEL F : I use it on a 70 -300mm zoom. I am sorry I cant answer the questionELIZABETH D : I don't know. The 58mm measurement is a diameter measurement, so it depends on the diameter of your 18mm lens.WILLIAM S : That probably depends upon your lens and if you have dx or fx format. Also may depend upon the f stop setting but I am not sure if it does. Try this. Cut a 3 1/4 inch diameter hole in a piece of cardboard and suspend that hole in front of your lens at 1 3/8 inch away from the lens filter threads. See if it blocks anything or darkens the perimeter of the field at the edges. I do not have an 18 mm lens that takes this size filter threads (58mm).. I only have an 18-35 and it is a lot bigger in diameter (77mm filter thread diameter) than this 58mm thread diameter hood. . I got this rubber hood for my nikkor 50 mm f1.4 lens.

Great Value!

Nice black, rubber folding sun-shade mounted to lightly lubricated threaded metal ring. Great price for what you get! Fits the bill and your camera lens, plus does the intended job. Would buy again and/or recommend it to others.

Perfect for travel!

If you are looking for a huge hood, this isn't it But for a small hood that doesn't take up any space - it is perfect! Folds back for easy storage, and it allows you to keep a lens cap on (some of the hoods don't). Love it, and will take it with me everytime I'm traveling!

Does exactly what I need it to do and more

The lens hood is perfect for my older model Tokina 90mm macro lens that didn't come with a lens hood. I like the fact that I can put my lens cap directly on the lens hood.

Great lens protection!
