I prefer rubber hoods whenever I can, because they act as soft bumpers. This one, as almost all others, have rather thick ¼ inch plastic rim which attaches to lens. I mean counting from lens threads and away. This is sometime problematic, if you have lens filter in between. Stacking up, may add vignetting in some combinations. Otherwise, cheap insurance for your lens.

Excellent looked and operated just like pictured. Works great on 24 mm lens but does not work on 10 35 lens range. The wide angle lens shows the hood in the photo. Other wise great product and worth the money. Johnny

I am happy with products and service at Adorama on almost every products. This is an exception. I wanted a soft and retractable rubber hood for my 70-200 lens. At an event, I would rather hit someone with soft rubber instead of hard plastic. I placed it on the camera and the metal ring immediately separated from the rubber hood. I called Julio (my salesman at Adorama) He sent me a new one. Same problem. Do not buy this unless you want to hot glue or epoxy it yourself. Mine is in a drawer waiting for me to remanufacture it.

Added this accessory to refine our picture taking. Like that it is a soft, rubber construction so it won't crack or chip.

I had intended to purchase a metal B&W lens hood but it wasn’t available so I decided to get the rubber hood to use for the short term. The price is right and it works fine.

While well made, I bought this lens rubber lens cover in part so I could use it with a polarizer and be able to turn the filter with it installed (which with a regular Nikon provided hood you can't do without first removing the hood. The lens has to be zoomed to at least 50mm in order to be able to use it with a filter and not have vignetting created by the hood. You do have the option to fold it back but even with that you have to be zoomed to 35mm. So in no circumstance is it suitable for a lens at 24mm, at least not my Nikon 24-70mm lens.

Lens Hood adjusts from wide-angle to normal to telephoto. Suitable for lenses from 24mm to 210mm focal lengths. Ideal for zoom lenses. Material is acid proof, temperature insensitive. Internal baffles absorbs all stray light reflections. Inside thread for filters.
