I needed a professional grade motorized slider for my product photography and video work. I already had, and have been very pleased with the PMG Slider that flips over and is straight or curved, I have the 36" version. I was concerned about the high price of this motor and controller, but now that I've used it, I feel it is definitely well worth the money. Installation was extremely easy and I really appreciate the included articulated arm for mounting the controller! The included cord is long enough to mount the controller on the end and allows for travel the full 36 " with a tiny bit to spare. I expected it to generate some noise as it's an electric motor and it does make noise. The video I will attach to this review is unedited and includes the motor sound. One fix for eliminating the sound is to run it slow and speed it up in post production, but this noise issue nearly cost them a star in my review, but the movement and assembly is so slick and well done that I kept my review at five stars. Unless you're making a video of something in a very quiet space, as I often do, you really won't be noticing the noise. It does begin to slip when the angle exceeds 20 degrees with a full size dslr and lens on a fluid head, so something would need to help it along in that situation. A counter pully with a weight on a string will help that along nicely. I definitely recommend it over friction sliders and the entire rig is the best quality I've found anywhere. Get one and add exponential production value to your video work! Time lapse is also excellent and travel is broken down to milimeters per the selected time frame you choose. Much improved over static time lapse sequences! Apologies, I thought I could upload the video to the review but it must be a published video first. The write up will have to stand alone I'm afraid.
