I was never happy with a monopod but this has changed my mind. It works great & the tension adjustment is very smooth. I now use this on a monopod for most of my wildlife photography with a 600mm lens. The lens is heavy enough that is uncomfortable after a short while when hand holding but the monopod relieves that strain. The only complaints are the price & the square edges on the gimbal that dig into the neck & shoulder if if I try to carry the rig slung over my shoulder.
