Questions & Answers

ADAM G : Can you use this with any 82mm ND filter, tiffen hoya syrp etc...?JIM B : I use it with my Tiffen Variable Neutral Density Filter and have been very satisfied.BILL N : This ring will allow you to use a threaded 82mm filter from any major brand on a 67mm lens. This includes Hoya, Tiffen, B+W, Breakthrough etc.STEVE C : I believe yes. if the size is correct for your filter, then it comes down to threads and I haven't found a filter that wouldn't thread into it... yet.MARK W : Any 82mm filter will work on it.
Chris C : what material is this step-up ring made out of?Marvin R : Plastic. Have never had a problem with the ProOptic Step-Up rings.ALEX N : It is made of AluminumBRUCE F : Not familiar with that brand, but you want aluminum or some other metal in order to avoid it getting stuck on the lens front. Always better to pay for the best for high end lenses and their accessories.EDMUND D : MetalBRIAN A : i have a similar adapter ring and i believe it's made of aluminum. need to be careful about over-tightening. the nice B+W offerings are made of brass and getting the rings stuck isn't really an issue, but they cost way more. i just leave my aluminum rings a little loose.RICKY L : It's a metal of some sort, aluminum I think, too light to be steel. But it could also be adamantium. Ever since I bought it, this mutant dude has been trying to take it from me. Definitely not mithril since I haven't seen any elves around.

Simple, useful, and way cheaper than having multiple $200 filters.

Works great. No slack in connection, and good quality metal. I use them for video so I can transfer an 82mm VND to any lens. Nothing negative to say, just a simple affordable option for someone running and gunning every single day of the week.

Allows you to use larger size filters on lenses with a smaller diameter thread. The first number is the size that screws into the lense, the second number is the filter size.
