Before you step into the world of sports announcing or any event that requires a reliable desktop push-to-talk device, consider the Pro Co Sound SAS2. This robust microphone switch is specifically engineered for sporting event announcers, offering clean, consistent performance with any balanced or floating low-impedance (150 Ohms nominal) microphone or signal source. The SAS2 is versatile, designed to work seamlessly with both condenser-type and dynamic microphones. While it's ideally suited for sports event announcing, it's equally effective for any scenario where a desktop push-to-talk device is necessary. Operating the SAS2 is straightforward. To transmit the microphone signal to the sound system, simply depress and hold down the push-to-talk button. It's a momentary press-to-talk switch, meaning the switch must remain pressed for the signal to stay live. Releasing the switch instantly mutes the microphone, preventing any further signal transmission to the sound system. Connections between the SAS2 and the microphone or signal source, and to the sound system, are conveniently made with standard microphone cables. The SAS2 is equipped with a 6" stainless steel gooseneck mounted on the top panel, threaded and ready to accept a microphone clip and microphone. For easy connectivity, the SAS2 comes with a female XLR-type connector for Mic Input and a Male XLR-type connector for Mic Output. The enclosure is crafted from a 16-gauge steel top and a rugged 11-gauge, black epoxy painted steel base, providing excellent magnetic shielding from 60Hz AC hum fields. The control and connector function graphics are clearly identified on a textured polycarbonate overlay. The unit is also fitted with (4) non-conductive, anti-skid feet on the base, ensuring stability during use. With top-quality connectors and switches, the SAS2 promises trouble-free service, even in challenging environments like remote broadcast and recording operations.
