The innovative design of this FireWire I/O Module allows for the connection of up to four ADA-8s on the same FireWire bus, facilitating up to 32 channels of simultaneous recording and playback. Each FireWire card supports 8 simultaneous input and output channels at up to 96kHz sampling rate, or 4 simultaneous input and output channels at 176.4 and 192kHz sampling rates. For applications requiring more than 96kHz, two FireWire cards can provide 8 channel simultaneous input and output.

This advanced module also supports 16 channel input or 16 channel output applications at up to 96kHz with two FireWire cards. For Windows PC (Vista and higher, 32 and 64 bit) applications, a driver is included with the module, making the ADA-8s appear as Windows Driver Model and ASIO compliant audio devices.

For macOS users, the Operating System will automatically recognize the connected ADA-8s and make it available to applications as an OS X Core Audio device. If your computer doesn't have FireWire, this module can also be used with Thunderbolt equipped computers via a third-party Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter. FireWire adapters are also available for ExpressCard and various types of PCI cards.
