This extender arm seems solidly built, and unlike other multi-directional arms, is long enough to get the tripod out of the field of view, although you will need to balance the arm with counterweights if needed. A good price, and a unique item with not too many competitors.

Very sturdy device for Photography parallel to the ground such as copy work without a copy stand or targets larger than posdible with a copy stand. Overall very sturdy with robiust but ideosynchratic ball head. The one improvement that could be added is a hook to hang a bottle of water from the back of the Horizontal bar to counterbalance the camera on the the other end of the horizontal bar. But altogether a solid piece of kit

I have a decent tripod but I wanted more versatility. I looked at ball heads and then decided to get this instead. It is even better built than I thought it would be and has a pretty good ball head on it. Using it mounted on my Slik Pro tripod, I can get into positions I had never considered before. I use a Sony A6000 and it is working very well. I am very happy with this unit and looking forward to using it every time I shoot.

Overall, the product is good for shooting down on something (ie: copy stand stuff for one), but the included ball head leaves a lot to be desired and is the weakest link. If you want to use a camera/lens combo with any weight, you will feel insecure about keeping the unit in place without really ratcheting down the tightening screws. You may have to think about purchasing a more substantial head.

I really can't say enough good things about this extension arm. It is solid metal construction, and very well made. The balljoint head is hefty enough to support my DSLR and 200mm zoom lens. The counterweight helps keep the arm balanced even at full length. Add a stone bag to your tripod and it is solid as can be. I shopped around for quite awhile before settling on this arm. I doubt you'd find a better option for the price.

This is a very practical tool. I use it in a very confined space to capture multiple elements of artworks to stitch together without having to move the art or the tripod. Preserving the angle of view and field of focus. A good bubble angle finder helps and of course a remote release. Simple raising and lowering the tripod center shaft I was able to capture 16 frames of a 4 x 10 foot vintage lithograph and it stitched seamlessly. Mounting on the bottom of your center shaft it also makes and effective copy work staging reaching beyond the confides of the tripod legs. It does wobble a little but with a bit of settling patience you can solve a lot of problems.

This horizontal tripod bar is heavy duty, great quality and nice looking equipment with a very good ball head. It exceeds my needs and I recommend it.

This is a well-built, sturdy accessory. I bought it to use with a small digital projector to project images onto my drawing table. It works just as I hoped it would and it is more versatile than the table stand that is designed for the projector.

This is the second Photek Extender I've purchased. I provide video support to two art groups. Both groups conduct demonstrations of various art techniques in various mediums. This extender, which I coupled with a Polaroid Pro Studio 8' Air-Cushioned Heavy Duty Light Stand, is perfect. Solid and completely adjustable to any shooting angle for our Sony HandiCam. Completely satisfied. Note that this is a heavy piece of equipment, and inexpensive tripods will be difficult to set properly.

I returned this item & went with a Vanguard tripod with a built-in extending arm. This item was extremely heavy & not well made.

I purchased extension arm so I could extend into flower beds for closeup shots however after experimentation I discovered it was perfect for overhead shots of food or document archiving. I can photograph documents faster than my all-in-one scanner/printer. I have used it to support a 2.3lb Olympus Camedia E-10 camera and a Nikon D3000 with a 70-300mm Zoom lens without any problems at all.

We use this product to attach a video camera so that it is looking directly down over the middle of a table to view the hands of a person working who is making a video class.

I bought this horizontal tripod arm to attach to a Manfrotto center post. This was for an animation line tester that I built. It works perfectly, although my only complaint is that it is slightly heavy. It does not effect my line tester, however, so I like the added stability of the product. It is a well made arm and easy to use. Getting my camera off and on the mount is a breeze. I would recommend it to anyone looking to purchase.

I needed to get my camera closer to the ground and this was the solution. I used this Extender with my Slik Pro 700 and I have a SOLID holder for my camera. I tried using this extender on my Sunpak tripod and all I got was SHAKE, the head was not solid enough to hold the extender. You need a very good tripod (not a local retail special) if you want rock solid results.
